Exactly what I expected from Toshiba

The Toshiba DVR-620 was exactly what I wanted and expected. I have had other brand DVD recorders, but the reliability of the "Toshiba" name brings confidence with it! I have had Toshiba TV's, dvd players, etc. and I was not disappointed with the DVR-620. It took me a short while to "learn" the machine, but it is well worth the time involved. I would recommend the unit to anyone. The "dubbing" of a VCR cassette to DVD disc was one main reason I purchased this machine because I have a large library of cassette's and now I can save them on dvd. Totally good choice.Read full review

Works well

The DVR 620 works well but is somewhat complicated to use. If you just want to copy from an external source, it is fairly easy but if you want to copy from a VHS tape to DVD, it gets to be a little more complicated. Do not expect to copy a VHS tape that is copywrited. The tapes are made with a protection that the DVR 620 cannot read and write to DVD. Read full review

Excellent recording device

When looking for a recorder for both VHS and DVD you can't beat this unit. It is as easy to use as any VCR or DVD recorder I have used. Output is as good as can be expected with a given source. Has a variety of connections available. Instructions are easy to follow. Dubbing could not be easier. The one thing I don't understand is the need to dub DVD to VHS. Why would you want to do that now? I guess some people do.Read full review

Good but no cigar.

It is possible that my first use would have been better if I had printed instructions. The CD wlth instructions was also incomplete or it simply did not have instructions presented clearly enough.>eg: VCR to DVD set up was not anywhere in printed material and very poorly presented on the CD.Read full review

New dual recorder

I like the product well enough. The only thing I don't like is that if you put in a tape of your own making you cannot get closed caption. That feature only woks for DVD discs.

Good but not for long.

Useful product but past experience shows that quality is on the weak side. The VCR mechanism starts to fail before long. I don't know what makes the drive go weak. Not enuf torque? You need to be rich to keep replacing these.Read full review

Convert VHS To DVD

I personally have spent nearly 30 years taping movies and television shows and specials. I currently have over 1500 VHS tapes filled with A+ programming. I purchased this machine and began converting my VHS tapes onto DVD. The instruction manual contains every question you can possibly think of, along with it's answer step by step. It is written so anyone can follow these directions with ease. The manufacturer is Toshiba, and is designed to give you countless years of perfect conversion. I highly recommend this product. This seller at many different times lowers the price by quite a lot, so be on the look out for that. I personally only paid $134.00...and every dollar spent was well worth it.Read full review

It has all the recorder & play back that you will need.

I have this product before I got this one and the product works great and I wanted another one to replace it if it would stop working. Toshiba is a very good manufacture and this used new one works just as well as the one I have. I have a quality player & recorder and I know this is the one to go with, just thinking ahead. This Toshiba DVR620KU DVD player record VCR combo with remote works well with my 1080 p Tv & my 4K 3D TV.Read full review

An excellent unit with easy to use features! Awesome!

Of all the DVD/VCR combo's that I've used over the years, this one has been the best and most consistently good. This is my 2nd Toshiba DVR 620. Harder to find in 2020, but an excellent unit if you need to play VHS and DVD.Read full review

Great value fir a high quality DVD/VHS recorder

Easy to operate but after setting a timer recording you must press the timer set button or your program will nor record. Also, you cannot switch from DVD mode to VHS mode without first disengaging the timer set button. I've been recording to DVD in long play mode to fit more than 1 recording on my disc and the quality is superb. Dubbing from VHS to DVD is a piece of cake. You need a separate tuner to record tv shows which isn't a problem as long as you adjust your cable settings to the channel you want to record ahead of time.Read full review
