A temporary filling that has been a boon.

It took me 3 attempts to get the filling to stick in place: the first attempt lasted less that 12 hours, the second attempt 36 hours but the third attempt was successful and it has now been there for almost 3 weeks. Wonderful! I am very careful at all times when eating and cleaning my teeth, but it has been a real 'port in a storm'!Read full review

Ok but very small quantity.

Worked well years ago and needed again during this lockdown. The gutta percha stick is very useful for lost fillings as it’s reasonably hard wearing and doesn’t usually come out apart from anything sticky. BUT, biggest complaint is the quantity supplied is very small. Gutta percha is relatively cheap even dental quality and to supply so little, 2cm approx is stingy at the price. Read full review

Waste of Money

The instructions tell you to cut a quarter inch length from the filling stick, soak in boiling water for 30 seconds, mould and place in the tooth cavity- this doesn’t work, as it is not pliable enough to mould, and sets almost immediately!
I went through a whole of the rest of the filling stick by keeping it in a pan of boiling water, but it still wasn’t pliable enough.
I bought 2 packs from eBay as there is a shortage during Covid 19 lockdown and Dentist being shut - total waste of money.
Tooth-fill is a much better product.

Toofypegs crown and cap repair

It's proving useful during lockdown. I had a metal cap on a tooth at the back of the mouth fall out. No dentists working if it isn't an emergency. Not possible to fix cap back in but if you use enough mixture you can fill any hole to protect the roots. I'll be buying more soon to tide me over until we can see dentist again. Gave a three as I only filled the tooth yesterday so I don't know how long repair will last. Could turn out to be an expensive wait for a return to normal times.Read full review

IT DOES NOT WORK DON'T BOTHER

IT DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!! Tried 3 times and it fell out each time. It didn't harden. It was still soft when it came out. I even stuck a hairdryer in my mouth to try and dry the tooth as recommended by one user and left it overnight to set but it fell out first thing the next morning. It was expensive and apparently they have doubled the price and halved the amount in the packet!! I feel that they are abusing the covid situation and making money out of desperate people. Luckily my dentist has reopened for basic treatment and I now have a proper temporary filling in place.Read full review

Great temporary cement!

Yes this stuff sets! Ordered another brand initially- less than useless! Crumbled like chalk - the crown came off every time I asked it to do some work so didn’t hold out much hope for Toofypegs! I was wrong! It’s so good I’ve actually forgotten it’s only temporary until my dentist starts treating again!Read full review

This product works but..

Good product, reasonably good value and it worked for me but it is very tricky to use. There are only two capsules of crown fixing cement in the packet and you have to mix the contents of the capsule 💊 with a Drop of water then quickly mix until a paste forms then very quickly apply to the crown. I found the problem was dispensing a tiny amount of water and the paste gells very quickly making it very difficult to apply to the crown. I failed on first attempt and only had one further attempt. It is so easy to over dilute the mixture and miss the point when paste is suitable for application. However I did get it to work on second attempt and crown still in place after two weeks. Good, medium duration, filling replacement. Would use again.

A broken filling had left an awkward 'worm hole' in a lower molar, that kept filling with food debris and was so time consuming to clean out. Cut around 5mm length of the white 'cylinder', put in a cup and poured boiling water in, leaving for several minutes. Poured off water, and white filler was soft and pliable in the fingers. Pushed it into the filling hole as much as possible, but biting down on it really did the job, and forced it down well into the cavity. It had a 'proud' edge on one side, but this just disappeared a few days later, assume it broke off and was swallowed with no ill effects. Now some six week later, cavity is still filled by the Toofy Pegs. Perhaps the level has lowered slightly, but no food debris gets in the hole as still virtually flush. In passing, the product appears to have short, flat strengthening 'ribbons' in the hard white paste, as this was apparent waving around when the 'proud' edge disappeared, but the 'ribbons' disappeared a day or two later, presumably worn away flush to the hard white surface. Will have to get it filled permanently some time, but I am a 'carer' with a patient crisis at the moment, so don't have time for dentist visit and also can't risk bringing back Covid from the dentist to my immune vulnerable clients. This product is a good, medium duration solution, and I will probably use the rest of it for a second fill when necessary before visiting the dentist. Perhaps 3 or 4 months protection?Read full review

Good product overall

The instruction were a little bit difficult to understand, but eventually I managed to figure them out. The cement lasted about 3 weeks, which normally would give you plenty of time to see a dentist, but I’m now having to re-cover the tooth again due to COVID-19. The coverage was fine and gave protected the tooth as required.Read full review

Probably ok for a cavity filling

Could not get this to work for me. It would probably be fine if used to fill a cavity but my problem was that the filling was on the surface of the tooth. Dentists refer to this as a filling but its not like a hole you can pack stuff into.
So not for surface fillings but probably ok for actual cavities.
Instructions fine, procedure ok.
