Fierce times is the title, and the topic, of this work by Vargas Llosa. As he has accustomed us to, his prose is sinuous, elegant and a touch of humor is never far behind. Definitely worth reading. The title is interesting, since the translation used is "fierce times", whereas it could as well be "hard times", and it would resonate differently, and no less appropriately.Read full review
