One of Hallmarks best!
This has been a classic in our house ever since we got it. No matter what the season it is a Great movie. It has been watched many many times.
The characters are acted exquisitely. It is a reminder of what is important in life.
The movie is staged in Nevada city. My girlfriend lived there and was so excited to see the town now. She let her tears flow without any effort to stop them when she saw the church.
Her dad, who is no longer living, was the pastor of the Nevada city Methodist Church for 7 years. She was so excited to see that the inside the church had not changed.
Thank-you Nevada City Methodist Church for giving my friend such a blessing.

Good and hard to find DVD for this price.
The shipping was good and the disc seems pretty good except that it blanked out a couple of times and was in need of cleaning. It still works ok with those exception.

I first watched this movie on Netflix - and LOVED it!
The following Christmas I tried to watch it once again, only to find that it had been removed from the play list. I was fortunate enough that year to find a DVD to borrow. This year, I decided that I loved the movie enough to buy it and I haven't regretted it since!
The movie touches my heart strings since I am an Army mom. As in the movie - true to life - every year Christmas cards and goodie boxes were prepared and shipped to soldiers serving over seas. Some of the soldiers I knew and others I did not...I just knew that they needed all the support that I could give them. So many soldiers deployed are totally alone without a loving support system from home.
I found this movie actually to be very true to life, with events and extraordinary characters. There are real families like this one - living, loving, watching out for each other and can laugh together :)Read full review

Joany Kane writes enjoyable films. This is a tribute to veteran's with positive energy towards honoring those who serve. Uncle Richard steals the film and you'll see him in other roles, but always remember him as Uncle Richard. It was captivating by being realistic. Christmas is used in the title and backdrop of this movie but I found we were drawn in so easily to the town, actors (super) and plot beyond the holiday. It had a really great ending. (I cried) Admirable portrayals to our soldiers in Vietnam and Afghanistan. We watched it as a family including teens to Grandparents who asked to watch again the next day! I have watched it 4 times. Hallmark should bring back the actors in a sequel or even another different movie. Yes, Ed Asner will be missed. He played a very different role here. Great to see the actors comments at the end about their roles. Don’t miss this one!! Grab your popcorn and hot chocolate.
