Good but Complicated
The quality of Texecom equipment is second to none and the contents of this kit form a very good basis for a comprehensive alarm system with the addition of a Battery Back Up for the Panel and an External Sounder. These are all available and werer purchased at the time. The general instructions are OK however this is quite a complex alarm system and some of the instyructions are quite vague particularly if you are not an alarm engineer or someone who has installed a Texecom Panle / System before. Having said that the Texecom Support Staff are excellent and will do as much as possible to help you out. I was very impressed by the range of the Wireless Units as I have a particularly remote location that I wanted to cover away from the main prpoerty and it did this easily. I have subsequently added more PIR Units and Magnetic detectors and one you know what to do these are easily added to the system. Ensure you purchase a lead to connect up the panel to your computer and use the Programming Software and the Ricochet Software as these makes like a lot easier to see what is going on. Overall I have been very pleased with the system but beaware that it is not as simple as it looks. Time is required.Read full review
