It's not a calculator
Presented as a Computer Algebra System (CAS), the nSPIRE CX is certainly very capable but falls short in the ease of use department. Of course the target user is secondary school students and the Texas Instruments "system" is well suited to this environment. Anything more advanced than high school mathematics or physics requires a considerable amount of custom programming and one would have to question the overall utility compared to a notepad equipped with a more friendly user interface and much faster and more powerful software.
