As a shredder it works fine. As for how long? I don't know; only had it a few weeks and I don't shred too much nowadays.
The noise from the shredder when doing its job is very noisy without it sounding like its a strong machine. It has a cheap noise. This will be ridiculed by the manufacturers I know but this is what its like to a honest to goodness customer/user.

does what i want it to do

it does the job and thats shredding. it doesnt like to shred for to long before it needs a rest. make sure the paper is straight when putting it in or it'll crumple an pull to 1 side. dont attempt to put more than 5 sheets in together because it'll jam. good size that holds a lot of shredded paper.Read full review

Powerful item Jams itself easily

This is a really good shredder...however it jams itself easily when shredding good quality paper even feeding 1 sheet at a time. I have got used to it now and the motor needs to cool more frequently than is convenient but for the price it is brilliant and you get what you pay for. This does exactly as expected.. shreds paper well. Good quality, easy to use with a sufficient capacity. Paper is best placed centrally and do not over use it as it does over heat which requires a good 30 minute rest which is common sense!
