Tefal FV9788 2800W Ultimate Anti-Scale Steam Iron

Tefal Ultimate with Durilium sole plate is a real advancement for easy ironing.

Tough it's thirsty it uses tap water, in fact filtered or bottled are NOT recommended, it irons on 55 g/min of steam with a very smooth sole plate that has a mass of holes. There is a boost which will give 230 g/min
but its rarely needed, mainly for seams or stubborn creases.

The purple looks great , it has a good weighty feel to it which I like - means the iron does the work , you just slide it around. This has been my favorite iron for several years however the improved soleplate with Durilium coating is a definite advancement to speedy ironing.

The iron has an east pop out unscrew anti scale collector which you just rinse under the tap to clean

Super Powerful

This steam iron is smooth, heats up quickly, uses a lot of water, has a stable base that will not be knocked over. It works!

Not a light iron, but glides easily and takes out wrinkles first swoop! I'd definitely recommend it for large items such as bed linen, curtains etc.
I haven't yet tried it on clothes, but suspect it may feel progressively heavier as you go through your pile - not a problem for me as I mainly need it for holiday cottage laundry.
Two small gripes - I find it difficult to push the steam shot button, and as the water spray button is under the handle, I inadvertently press that at the same time as the steam shot.
The cord is nice and long, and an be wrapped nearly round the base.
I would recommend this iron, but would caution that if you have arthritis, or weak arms, you may find it too heavy. Read full review

A little heavy.

The iron irons incredibly well and it is easy to use, but my only criticism is it is quite heavy and someone older or someone with weak wrists would find this iron too heavy to handle.

Best Iron

Has cut my ironing time in half! So efficient at getting creases out; just glides over garments. A bit heavy, but I think that’s what makes it such a good iron.
