Tanglewood has come up again with a bargain, decent quality, guitar ideally suited to beginners and intermediate players. The cutaway allows for easier access to the higher frets and fit and finish are very good. A built in tuner and pickups allow the guitar to be easily kept in tune; important for beginners, and it can be plugged into an amplifier for an incredible range of tones. Acoustically the sound is surprisingly good for such a modest guitar.

The guitar arrived well protected in bubble wrap and foam, complete with truss rod adjustment key. The strings were pretty much in tune out of the box and the action was well set with no string buzz anywhere on the fretboard.

Enclosed tuners are smooth and easy to tweak to get the strings precisely in tune. The dark, almost black, finish stands out from the more traditional guitar appearance, in a good way.

Impossible to find fault for the money. You could spend more than double and get a guitar that wasn’t as good.Read full review
