Best Bang for your Buck

This was my first with a TCL branded device and my first experience with Roku. Picture quality is great, but does suffer from poor viewing angles when you stray to far from center. Otherwise, build quality appears good. Roku seems a bit sluggish, especially compared to my Nvidia Shield, but sufficient enough. My main reason for choosing this model was Roku support for Directv NOW, since they have yet to make an app for Android TV.Read full review

Decent TV

But it's so slow! My Roku 3 that I have connected to one of my other TVs is twice as fast. Plus, it keeps dropping WiFi connection for no good reason, even though the wireless router is about 5m away. And yes, I've tried turning the router on/off. The wireless card in this thing likely isn't superior quality.

Easy to setup and was simple to hang on the wall mount I bought. It's lightweight and has tons of connectivity; 3 HDMI and what-not. I also like the remote, which has Netflix, Amazon, and Sling hot buttons right on it.

Overall I'm satisfied, but not blown away either. For what I paid, it's fine.Read full review

First Roku experience

Nothing like it. Extremely easy. Start with making Roku account. Get tv and plug in all cables. Have your wireless network password ready. Answer simple questions when you turn on the TV and then you will see the difference. Amazing picture and free apps. Add a Netflix account and enjoy. Sense to be decent quality tv, but the internal software does not work.

I have tried and tried to get this to connect to my wireless internet, and while it says it can connect to the internet, it says it fails to download a software update (error code 003) and then forces you to start the whole process over again. This makes the tv useless as far as having any smart capabilities. So frustrating! I think this will be the last TCL or Roku I ever buy! :-(Read full review
