Well-made product and a clever design, but has limitations

The inclinometer works well in certain conditions (standing still or coasting downhill), but it is inherently difficult to measure incline when pedaling up a hill. The movement of the bike and the acceleration with each pedal stroke tends to distort the reading. If you really want to know how steep a particular hill is, it's best to stop the bike and read the incline while stationary. You can also get a reasonably accurate reading when coasting DOWN the hill (as long as the road is fairly smooth), though the acceleration on a steep hill will also create an error in the reading. Not the fault of the product, really, just an inherent problem with measuring incline while moving. All in all, this product works pretty well as long as you understand the limitations.Read full review

Difficult to read while moving - so not really useful

Its ok. As other reviewers have said, it's accurate +/- 2%, meaning the silver bubble steadily bobbles around about 2% while riding a bike. So the meter will give you an idea if you're going up a 5% incline or a 10% incline. But you can't read the meter accurately enough to decide whether that hill was 7% or 9%. So, it doesn't really add any new information beyond what you already knew - whether you're going uphill or downhill, a little or a lot. Also, you never really know whether the meter's been bumped out of level, so its hard to trust the readings for that reason, too.Read full review

Well made, but not practical...

The readout is compact, yet ultra clear with a good choice of colors. It is provided with good, solid metal clamps for mounting to a wide variety of handle bar diameters.
However, the readout jumps every time you turn the bars, even a little bit, making it an impractical device.
I modified mine to mount to, and in-line with the bike frame's cross bar which is not as likely to make the little indicator jump with every move of the bike. Its a bit harder to read, but far more stable.
Lastly, the single screw that holds the readout to the clamp is impractical. Since it can move with a bump from a knee or hit on the bike rack...it does. I'm going to try and convert mine to some sort of two-point mount, that can't be knocked off balance so easily.

Easy to Read Display

Mounts easily on the handlebars. I like the fact that the indicator is dampened. I would prefer to have the gauge shortened, especially on the incline portion. It's kind of obtrusive on the handlebars. It overpowers in size and color compared to my cycle computer which actually is far more important.Read full review
