A "road ready" small desk with reasonable features for the price

I bought my first Studiomaster desk way back in 1978 when they were a step up from the "economy" products that most aspiring bands were using. In a way they were left behind by the rise of companies like Hill Audio and Soundcraft and then the revolution caused by the likes of Alesis, Fostex and Behringer but this is a very reasonable small, basic mixer for the money. The build feels far more "road ready" than some of the competition and the inclusion of some digital features such as bluetooth (which has proved difficult to pair but a great idea) SD card playback and USB connectivity together with digital fx enhance its versatility. The provision of 8 dedicated mic inputs on a desk in this category was a major reason for my choice of this desk. Beautful, brilliant, fantastic value.

This is a beautiful piece of kit. Extremely pleased. Bought it for a new sound system for our church. The onboard USB/SDC/Bluetooth player and recorder is an incredible added bonus. We can use for weddings, funerals if people have music on a USB stick they want played, or we can let them play music off their phones via headphone plug OR Bluetooth. Also useful for playing music before and after services if no musicians are present.

We can also record the services straight onto USB or SD card. The sound quality is SUPERB, though please note it is NOT stereo. Bizarre that it's not in this day and age; for our purposes, it doesn't matter and anyway, you wouldn't normally expect your mixer to be able to record as well.

With or without that added bonus, this is a superb mixer, feels good, sounds good, bristling with all the inputs, outputs and controls you need. Highly recommend.Read full review
