Cheap and cheerful but surprisingly effective

I bought this to hack away at 3 foot high mix of grasses, weeds, woody perennials and brambles. It is quite effective once you have got the right technique, easy to keep sharp and lightweight so I can pop it in a rucksack or cycle pannier. Build quality isn't great but what do you expect at this price.Read full review

Does the job but with flaws

So the blade is super sharp! It definitely does what you need it to but the grip handle spins and slips down so if you’re not careful it can come off completely when using which is a problem! Plus the tip is weak and with use (when it’s hit the ground) has curled round so you loose the end and it can’t be put back in it’s storing folded position - however for the price I would absolutely recommend this product and wouldn’t hesitate in purchasing again. Just be careful!Read full review

It good sickle. It quite sharp.

I had injury on my calf while I used for cut hop bines. I had to trim the point of the sickle to smooth round edge. I try it again without any problem. It a good sickle.

Compact and lightweight.

I ordered this as part of my "Bug-out" kit. Folds safely away, ideal for putting in the backpack without worrying that it will tear/cut anything. Blade seems super sharp, construction seems sturdy. Locking system holds well. There seem to be a couple of neg comments, all I can say is - "you gets what you pays for". Don't expect this to chop down blackberry bushes or saplings! Don't swing it, like you would a hand scythe. Use more of a "pulling" motion and you'll be fine.Read full review

Good value tool.

This sickle is really good, light yet strong and easy to use. Seems to retain its edge well. The lightness means it can be used for long periods. Great!

Cheap and low quality

Very cheap and understandably low quality. Accidentally hit a tree and bent the blade. Safety catch sometimes fails to engage and allows blade to self close.
