Paper Shredding Scissors

I bought these as an alternative to the plastic hand cranked paper shredder that costs considerably more and having not received the original order I ordered the hand scissors which are a whole lot cheaper -

they have five blades either side and will cut through single sheets of paper brilliantly but they do not cut up plastic like credit cards -

the one drawback is the scissor handle in an ideal world they should be more friendlier on the hand but after a while using the Scissors your hand may get sore one remedy is to wear a protective glove or mitt -

do not try cutting more than one sheet at a time as the cut paper clogs up the blades - the blades do clog up anyway and have to be manually unclogged every few minutes -

They're ok for little things

My shredder has broken so I bought these as generally it is only receipts and my address from letters that I want to shred anyway. My aim is to shred them as I go rather than leave a pile of stuff that I used to do when my shredder was working. They are great for receipts and single sheets of paper but they don't work well on multiple sheets of paper. I am happy I bought them but if you have lots of shredding to do or whole pages then best to buy a shredder unless you have a lot of patience!!!Read full review

Good for shredding small bits of paper

Very good for shredding small bits of paper. I wouldn't recommend using for full sheets of paper. Can be a bit fiddly with all the small bits of paper everywhere but overall great quality and the cheapest anywhere.

Simple data shredding solution!

A motorised shredder would have been a bit excessive for my requirements and these scissors provide a good value and a simple way to shred documents prior to disposing of them. In actual fact, for household use, you only really need to slice through the name/address - or overdraft! - section anyway, so this tool is more than adequate.Read full review

Simple, effective and fun way to maintain hard copy data security

These scissors allow shredding of address/bar code/other personal info on letters and packaging, allowing ordinary recycling of most of one's daily mail, especially junk mail with personal info on. We just cut out the address panel (and any other small sections with personal data on, shred that with these scissors, and recycle the rest. Quick, energy efficient, & ecologically sound. No electricity needed, and silent!

It's actually very therapeutic cutting almost completely across the piece, then upwards across those first cuts to leave dozens of 2mm x 2mm pieces - not to mention secure!! These scissors have remained sharp and effective; they don't cut soft plastic too well, but are great on paper.

1) before (about 6 x 8 cms);
2) after four horizontal cuts;
3) after subsequent four vertical cuts
(NB final pieces much smaller than from any electrical shredder I've encountered!)

Great at shredding paper, OK on herbs

Snips through several sheets of paper with no trouble at all, chopping them fine enough for most domestic security purposes.

A bit less successful on fresh parsley (the design of the scissors means it will crush/bruise herbs) but certainly miles quicker than chopping by hand.Read full review

Great security scissors

Have had many electric shredders in the past and they do not last long. The last one I had failed after only its second use, so I felt it was time to try these. I am happy with my purchase and would recommend these. Great for shredding personal documents and doing the job well.
