Great quality sharpener.

It's very similar to what I used in drafting class some 50 years ago. Provides an extremely sharp point on 2mm leads. Only those with a very soft hand can use such sharp points without breaking the tip. Takes lots of practice and much patience but it's well worth the time in the finished product. You'll need a quality lead holder and controlled hands to achieve consistency but the fine lines are better then those delivered by a .5mm or even a .3mm. You won't be disappointed once you're practiced up a bit.Read full review

I did watch videos about this piece and it's everything like they were saying about it. It's lightweight, easy to use, of good quality, precise when you use it. Don't know about other brands, but this one is good so I won't bother testing other manufacturers' sharpeners.Read full review

Brings back memories from a better time!

I use a mechanical pencil (lead holder as they are known) and needed a rotary sharpner to fine tune the lead.

Good but needs instructions

Works well. But, how to use it isn't necessarily intuitive. No instructions came with it. I looked it up, on YouTube. Once you've got that, it works very easily.

go for it, it's not like you have a choice

reasonably good product, especially considering there is nothing better out there, but mechanical pencils whose head is even ever so slightly larger than an 8.4 mm diameter will not fit in the sharpener, e.g. my Baile ecofriends 2.0 mm AUTO PENCIL BL-520A for which i purchased this sharpener.Read full review
