I like this Crimping Tool Kit.
After some home refurbishments, I needed to remake our home network. I looked on eBay for a network crimping tool. I found this set for a great price, and it came with RJ45 plugs tops and stripper tool. I took it out of the package and prepared the cable ends. Took the crimping tool and fitted all the plugs. No practice. No reading the instructions. Just put the plug on the cable, put the plug in the crimping tool, and gently squeezed. Job Done !!! That simple.
Anyway. I like this crimpng set. And I've also used it and fitted new plugs to our phone line as well.Read full review
It works.
Not the highest quality tool, the plugs that come with it don't have holes in them so you have to cut the cable to the exact length that they need to be to go in. Crimping the end was a little difficult to get it in the right place to actually crimp it.
Once everything was done and in the right place the plug seems to hold up alright but overall just a bit more fiddly and difficult to use than tools that cost a bit more.
For the price it's better than I had expected but not a 5 star product it works you wouldn't want to make a lot of cat 5 with it only the occasional end here or there.Read full review

Good value item that does exactly what it should
Given the low price, I was expecting a crimper that was 'just up to the job'. However, this feels and acts like a good quality product. It has allowed me to make and repair three ethernet cables (so far). I recommend this item if you are planning to make your own cables, or repair broken connections on the end of existing cables.
Good value at the price.Read full review
Buy the blue one crimping Tool RJ45 Cat5. Not product shown, this has been altered by someone else.
The original pic has been altered. It should show a Yellow handled Cat 5 termination tool.of which 4 out of 5 connections failed. I think the comb press damages the plastic plug..preventing the final connection.
The blue one . A little more expensive uses a flat press. Works every time. U get what you pay for. Ken.Read full review

Crimper great
Crimper is good quality, betterbthan expected & works well. 5 stars for that.
Connectors supplied are not so good & difficult to use (not pass-through type), hence 4 stars overall.

Great Value but Quite Dangerous
A decent tool with some heft. However the wire cutters, while effective, are exposed razor blades.
If you’re not looking carefully you can easily slice your hand moving the tool. I have.
r>It’s hard to resist given its value, but be careful how you store and use it. It’s the only issue. Read full review

Essential and well priced toolkit
Great, essential piece of kit when diagnosing and fixing cat 6 cabling. Our electrician initially laid the cables and connected up sockets but he ran out of time which left me with 6 ethernet connections and a POE camera which didn't work. Bought this tool kit and a packet of Pass Through RJ45 connectors and remade any connections which failed the connectivity test. Then checked sockets an re punched connectors that failed test using the KD-1 tool. I now have all Ethernet cables working wonderfully via my network switch and broadband router.Read full review

Great value quality crimping tool for RJ45 (ethernet )and RJ11 (phone) with 20 connectors included too
If you have a few RJ45 ethernet cables ( or others) to repair then this little kit is great value for money, as it comes with no frilly packaging but a quality crimping tool and 20 connectors and a little insulation stripping tool too. The tool is well made and crimps the plug precisely.
Fitting the stripped cable into the plug (generally) is not particularly easy as the cables tend to have discrete stranded conductors which unlike IDC/ stripline don't all stay in one neat line but have to be aligned separately by hand. I ended up stripping off more of the outer insulation than you would normally need to and inserting the wires into their respective holes one by one using a pair of tweezers - that worked. . Then the outer part of the cable can be pushed up and the plug can be crimped securely. The plug grips the individual stranded wire cores with IDC terminals and the tool also crimps shut the integral cord grip to stop the outer of the cable pulling out. My cable then tested out OK with the ubiquitous counting LED cable testing tool for this purpose.
Either way it's great value for money and I would buy it again. Read full review

Useful
Certainly an amazing amount of kit for the money. For those who will only occasionally make up RJ45 or similar cables it is a real asset. I think the crimper is good, beware when first opening the kit there is a cutter on the inside of the crimper handles that is very sharp and will lacerate the unwary!Read full review

Great value for money
I do not do many data connections but I needed a kit to carry out a cat5e installation.
I was sceptical after seeing the cost but can not fault it whatsoever. Really good value for an electrician or DIY'er.Read full review
