Even though this product was new a few year ago, you can tell that time has taken its toll. The unit seems sluggish. It also keeps running into the person who is holding the remote control in the “follow me” setting. It doesn’t seem like it’s going to hold up. Read full review

Great quality Droid.

A friend of mine had one of these when they first came out. For some reason Spinmaster stopped selling them. Haven’t been able to find a brand new one in the UK.
It’s a great droid, does everything it says on the box. Once you learn to use BB-8 correctly he’s a joy to control. The animations are realistic as is the manual control movements. The follow me mode does not always perform as it should. The droid prefers lots of space, but once mastered small spaces become easy.

GOOD PRODUCT

It is the best BB8 which can be found on the market. It gives the impression it is alive and communicates with you. However, for its price, I think there should be more features such as more verbal commands, sensors for overcoming walls etc. and face recognition.
If you are getting it for your kids remember that they will get bored with BB8 very quick. If you are getting it for yourself (adult) it is also good because it is interactive.

Extremely happy with this item!

So there are a lot of Star wars droids out there for around the same price. But you need to buy this one!!! First of all, it's huge! My 8 year old is in love with it and feels like he actually has his own Droid. Secondly, it's interactive!! He talks to it with commands and it responds accordingly! He clips the controller on himself and it just follows him around. This makes him feel more and more like he has a real Droid.
