Timeless design, fantastic performance

I have worked in hifi, I have ran a recording studio, I love music and music equipment, first hi bought age 16. What can I say - good components, well looked after older amplifiers can and are still very worthy products to use for hi fi - for a few pounds you can easily put together a system that will simply embarrass modern products that people buy today. This amp is no exception - and I think it still looks timeless. Detailed highs, fairly tight bass and controlled mid-range, a fantastic range of inputs and a quality phono stage (after all these were made during the vinyl era). Dials controls and buttons still feel as new after all of these decades, the remote control works as does the motorised volume control - fantastic! Nad and some other amps will give you the benefit of a toroidal transformer as opposed to a i.e. block, and give less resistance, colouration and a more natural sound, but believe me, don't hesitate to grab one of these absolute Steals, pair with a set of half decent hifi speakers, and off you go! You can bring amps like this right up to date for instance, I've added a Google Audio cast and now stream high quality music through an amp that's almost as old as I am and in much better condition haha :) Read full review

Solid reliable piece of kit.

The amp is exactly what I was expecting having used a number of these before. It is a good solid old fashioned stereo amp with plenty of power. It's not particularly hi fi but for the money it sounds pretty decent, especially with a budget turntable and a pair of second hand Monitor audio B2 speakers. I already had two of these, in my lounge and dining room. Now I have a third in the study! Sounds great with plenty of power and a nice remote with servo volume control. Plenty of inputs for any audio sources.

Brilliant sound quality at a bargain price.

Brilliant sound from my retro sound system, using Sony CD player, Garrard deck and Denon speakers. Super powerful in a normal sized house.

Just brilliant.

Sound quality is fantastic when using with my Sony turntable. Just remember you have to turn speakers off when you plug headphones in, or your neighbours come knocking late at night.
