low price, decent quality ridiculously long battery life.
Has amazing range, I can leave our office suite and be in the restroom down the hall, through walls and doors, but sometimes, even within feet of the transmitter the audio is subject to crackling interference. The headphone has a button to switch channels and sharpen in tuning which usually works for a while....still they operate off of 900 MHZ and you will have to live with more than occasional digital fuzz-interference. MDR-RF995RK Sony Wireless Headphones
Bought these for my 92 year old father so he could hear the TV. The only complaint he has is he has to remove them to adjust the volume. His old pair he could push up or down on one of the ear pieces. These have a little wheel to turn up and down on the bottom of the earpiece and his fingers can't feel it to adjust while wearing.
I did have to purchase the additional cord as his TV did not have a microphone jack, but it was no deal breaker. Fairly inexpensive at Walmart.

These were easy to install. Simple instructions. Battery installed, just plugged unto the 'sound out' on the back of the TV, and the transformer into an electrical socket. Be prepared, it takes nearly 10 hours for the battery to reach full charge immediately after installation.

Sound is good -- even though I suffer material hearing loss.
Volume on the headset is controlled by a wheel on the right earphone. This is where my only issue is. I wear hearing aids, and without the hearing aids inserted in my ears the maximum volume produced by earphones isn't loud enough for me unless the volume on the TV itself is turned louder than my wife needs it. Had there not been this issue, I'd have rated it 5 stars.
They're usable over a pretty good distance. They're installed on our bedroom TV which is on the second floor, and I wandered all over the house -- including the basement -- with no loss of effectiveness or volume. Nice. The same is true for going out to the mailbox at the curb. Worked well all the way there and back.
One nice thing, for future consideration, is that the rechargeable battery in the headphones is replaceable. If it goes bad, there's no need to replace the entire headset -- just the battery. But a replacement Sony battery is insanely expensive. If I ever need to replace the battery I'd look at the Sony battery first, but if the price differential is still the same, I'll likely end up buying a generic replacement battery at half the cost of a Sony battery.
I recommend them.

Truth be told, comparisons and review outcome..
They could be a bit more comfortable. It lacks on the padding and your ear almost touches the wall of the speaker. The sound is decent and good enough for easy listening and movies. They are very light and fit well and for the price I got them for they are worth every penny!! The reception is very good for only 900MHz. I really like that multiple headsets can be used off of 1 receiver.. I have 4 of them going off of 1 receiver. Now, I had the Sennheiser 185 and 175, I tried and returned them both..!! They sounded GREAT but randomly (oddly) cut off and with a digital signal and RF output at 2.48GHz this shouldn't have happened.. Now, on account of the HIGH RF (WAY to much RADIATION) it was causing my self, my wife, and children's ears to feel like they were on FIRE after only about 30-45 minutes into a movie.. To anyone who's experienced the "HOT EAR" using wireless headphones, I HIGHLY recommend these Sony's or any other unit that only puts out 900MHz..!! Anyone that says the " HOT EAR" is due to the padding, or no air circulation, they don't breath.. blah blah.. Don't have a clue.. Some people don't realize RF radiation is real and will cause your skin to get hot if near it long enough that's a fact.. These Sony's have past my test and my families as well..! Also to note, I'm coming off a VERY OLD pair of Acoustic Research AW771 900 MHz.. Never had an issue with hot ears until the Sennheiser 175 and the 185 which are open backs(thought maybe open back would give me air circulation to cool my darn hot ears..) and was mind blown and upset because they really sounded fantastic.. But fact is, if you can't finish a movie or have to pause and remove the headset just to cool down your ears what good are they...? Some roaring
Light weight, comfortable, but the sound is just okay. I have tried all three channels and I still get this fuzzy roaring sound that is a bit bothersome. I am not sure how to correct this issue but I will still use them at my desk set up. I bought these because my wife said that my software on my computer bothered her while she watched tv and I use them with my Apple TV also.

These headphones have clear sound. When I first hooked them up, I would have occasional loss of sound which would stop for a few seconds. I would kind of move them around on my head and they would start again. It wasn't because they were not over my ears. Not sure if they were not getting signal or what. They are somewhat comfy, but I have another Sony headphone that is more comfortable. The biggest drawback to these headphones is the volume control knob. It is very hard to find and feel on the headphone, so sometimes I have to take them off to find the control knob. The other pair of headphones I have are very easy to adjust the volume, but they also cost more. These headphones were a bargain and usually you get what you pay for.Read full review
