This unit offers the same sound quality as the Phillips equivalent which I previously had, but with generally more convenient operating features. For example, it stays in recording mode for about 3 minutes, which is much better for recording radio programmes. Also, the track number increment function can be permanently set so that it ignores quiet or silent passages in the source material. The use of dials instead of buttons for some purposes is easier on the fingers,too. I have had no difficulty in this machine with either new Maxell or old TDK CD-RW discs, although the latter have some scratches.
My one criticism is of the display. The recording levels are too small, and information concerning Deck A is positioned above that for Deck B, rather than to the left, which is the more obvious layout.

I bought this for my husband who previously once had a sony recorder exactly like this one I've just bought from ebay his previous one was exactly the same & since his old one had broken he had really missed it so when I came across a second hand version of it I ordered it ..He likes it because you don't need a computer or anything to record or download music it does it by using one Music CD recordeded onto a second Blank CD R inside the second CD tray..Twin CD He isn't a computer fan not everyone owns a computer or knows much about them but this is the next best thing .. & in my husbands view its alot more easier to use ... Replacement CD recorder

I have owned this Sony RCD-W100 recorder for quite a few years, but it has developed a fault, which might be difficult to repair since this machine is out of production. I managed to find an identical machine on e-bay, which I was able to buy. The replacement recorder is working very well and is in excellent condition. I am fully satisfied with my purchase. This particular Sony RCD-W100 2- Disc CD Recorder, bought as a replacement for the one I
had bought in 2009 (Now not Working), seems to be an updated version as the recording set up is different and took time to work out without the instruction manual. I had kept the original manual so I was able to get it working from going through that.
