A brilliant purchase!
Searching for inexpensive in-ear headphones, as Apple ones don’t fit? I looked at lots of product reviews in Which and What Hi-Fi etc. Couldn’t believe all the 5* ratings for only £20, but thought they were worth a try. I’m so glad I did! Brilliant sound quality and they stay in place and are really comfortable. Thinking of buying a second spare pair. Get these!Read full review

Poor sound
Really disappointed with these earphones. Trust the bad reviews because they are accurate.
They look great and fit really well. The base is nice. I think every review says that and I agree. Not overpowering, just full and clean but after that it’s down hill I’m afraid. The midds being lacklustre and the highs are quite bright to the point where you can’t play at high volume because the sound is that bad.
If you want to listen to some tunes they will do but if you have a critical ear then forget it. Where they really fall over is when watching a film they just sound awful. Read full review

When I first listened to them, I thought the sound a bit tinny,
Needn't have worried - after a few listens, they came into their own. Bright (in fact, maybe a tad too bright, but that really is my only qualm) and airy treble, excellent, taut bass and altogether a great, coherent sound.
I usually hate in-ear headphones because they keep falling out, but these fit snugly.
Work really well as hands-free too.

Great sound and comfort
The sound is excellent and despite feeling sturdier than most in-ear headphones as requested still quite light. I don't have to keep pushing them back in or anything, they just sit nicely in my ear.
The pair I received looked as new, there's no way I could tell they were reconditioned. The box they came in was a bit tatty with a sticker on saying reconditioned but apart from that, great headphones, new carry case with them and 3 sets of new rubber plugs of different sizes (xs-l).

Best for the budget
I have always been a fan of Sony headphones and in ear headphones. So far these are the best in ear headphones ive had. Crisp and punchy, well balanced with great range of 5-28khz producing a wider range. You cant find any other makes going extra range and most will have 20-20khz that sound flat or limited. If that what matters then look no further. Few things im not liking is the cable, also looks great and is good quality, its quite soft and tangles easy. When putting in ears you can hear membrane flexing as you pushing air inside, not something ive heard in any other in ears. Read full review

Sony MDR-EX650 -- Simply the best --
This will be my fourth set of these award winning in-ear headphones, the first two sets I paid over £50 each for some years ago and the current RRP is £60 or so. Machined from solid brass I have never found anything which comes close to the sound quality without spending well over £100.
The clarity is impressive and comes with great tonal range and bass, of particular note is the stereo soundstage which is vast. Even the earbuds are fantastic - before the 650s I always used expensive Comply memory foam tips to obtain a decent seal with in ear phones. Somehow the very soft plastic buds on the Sonys improve upon these - far more comfortable, no messing about warming up and compressing foam. They just work, perfectly.
Previous sets have not lasted forever, the one button remote packs up after a year or so followed by the L-connector eventually but this is after heavy use of up to several hours a day, sweaty gym sessions and being stuffed into many pockets. This latest set (distinguished by the environmentally aware white cardboard box instead of plastic) have been revised with a more resilient cable and solid microphone/remote, it will be interesting to see what their lifespan will be.
At the current trending price of under £30 the EX650s represent astonishing value for money and should be purchased immediately!

Better classed as D grade..
The earphones work ok and the sound is well balanced and beautifully clear. I was disappointed that the cosmetic appearance was very poor. It certainly looked as if the earphones had been very well used: poorly packed in the cheapest of plastic pouches and dirty. I had to replace the 'used' rubber ear cups, which was an expense I hadn't anticipated. Will avoid in future.Read full review

Best Earphone I've Tried.
The Best earphones I've tried, the sound quality beats all the wired and wireless ones. If you like the heavy bass this is your thing. Yet it is much more than just the bass, it's actually very balanced and layered. Now due to the big shift to wireless earphones the price of wired ones has dropped a lot, which makes this even more of a winner. It's comfortable and neat looking, can't comment on durability as I only had it for a week, but in terms of sound quality, this is second to none. Read full review
