Superior Professional Grade Headphones
These headphones are one of the best Professional Series Monitor headsets. I've had the SONY MDR Series in my studio and on the road for many years and they are high quality commercial grade product. I would highly recommend this series to anyone. Great base reproduction, the highs are clean and crisp. They have great separation and Isolation. They are not active noise reduction headphones and a lot of sellers are advertising them to be such. The only thing that I have a con with is that the ear cuffs disintegrate over time and you must replaces them with OEM cuffs or the sound quality is compromised. Other that they a great professional grade headset! Read full review

Gold standard
I like them because good neutral sound for monitoring, durable and portable. Although these headphones are not perfect. The ear cups don't last after a year the coating beings flaking off. I buy 3rd party deep replacement ear cups that are superior. I'm also not a fan of how much coiling the cable has. You have to be careful with it because if the coiling gets stretched out it's a mess. That brings me to my last criticism I like a cable that can be unplugged so if it gets damaged or you would prefer a straight cable you should be able to swap out.
You might be thinking I hate them but I don't I use them everyday and they are invaluable piece of gear.Read full review

good all-purpose headset.
This headset produces a very clean, clear sound from low to high frequency. I had been accustom to the standard bass-boost cheap headsets. It is a pleasure to not have the low end prioritized for big-bass pop music. These are just what I need for my audio monitoring at a very fair price.Read full review

Durable headphones with quality sound
I first bought a pair of MDR-7506 headphones 9 years ago, and recently bought a new pair. These headphones have a nice balanced sound quality that delivers crisp highs and thumping lows. They are comfortable to wear for long periods and stay on your head well (the only thing is when they are new they are very cushy but do squeeze your head a bit.) Over the 9 years I used my original pair, I replaced the ear cups once, as the coating on the original foam had deteriorated, and due to my own error I bent the 1/8th plug, but was able to replace it with an after market one which I used for a few years. However, when my soldering finally failed, I saw that the exposed wires between the earcups were wearing very thin in some places (though the sound quality was still great!) Given the length of service and much time spent getting thrown in bags and such, I decided a new pair would be worth it and now I'm reliving the excitement of listening to my favorite music with these fantastic headphones!Read full review

Quality sound, comfortable fit & solid value
Three questions are asked out of the gate of this request for review; 1) Is the sound quality good? 2) Are they comfortable? & 3) Are they lightweight? I've only had these a monthly so I've only listened to a fraction of my music collection & have used for TV watching too. I purchased based on critical & consumer reviews. I've enjoyed Sony products in the past (loudspeakers, receivers & TVs) and have enjoyed them all. These are qualify headphones for the price. Back to #1) - Yes, headphones offer full bass response. Clean and not bottom heavy. Mid range & highs are clear & no distortion. The provide good separation too. Back in the day, only over-the-ear headphone were available so these are old school & considered 'studio' headphones. Earbuds wearers may not like so try before you buy. #2) Yes, I wear a 7-3/4 baseball cap and the rest comfortably on my head & over my ears. #3) Overall they feel lightweight. For music listening up to an hour they are comfortable. But after a 2hr.+ movie or Series binge, you can start to feel their presence which may be uncomfortable for some. And for the listener on the go, they come with a convenient carrying pouch. The Sony Professional MDR-7506 offer quality sound, a comfortable fit & solid value.Read full review

Very comfortable, excellent sound quality.
This pair of MDR-7506 replaces the original pair that I've had for 10 years. The quality of sound from these is excellent and they are really tough - I wore mine inside and often outside under my winter coat hood shoveling snow, and was on my second pair of replacement ear pads when they finally gave out. They are really comfortable to wear and I would recommend them highly to anyone wanting a good quality headset at a reasonable price.Read full review

None Better At This Price
Best headphones for the money, and I have owned many over nearly fifty years in radio and television. They feel good, sound nice, have quality wires and sturdy and not clunky like some other high-end headphones. You owe it to yourself to spend a few extra bucks and buy these. If you like to waste money, go ahead and get those designer headphones. You'll come back to these.Read full review

SONY MDR-7506
Excellent sound qualities, perfect blend of base and treble. Comfortable fit. A high quality build. I expect to get years of use from these Sony headphones. For the price these are hard to beat unless youd like to spend hundreds and I think theyd still be very competitive regardless. You cant go wrong with Sony MDR-7506 headphines !!!!!Read full review

Great sound at a good price; a little heavy for longer listening sessions.
Great sound at a good price makes this headphone the standard for professionals (I spent 40 years in radio and TV). I've purchased Sony headphones before and have always been satisfied. I wouldn't recommend this headset for long listening sessions: it's a little heavy and could get uncomfortable.
If you need precise sound and appreciate solid (but not boomy) bass response, this is a great buy. Check the independent reviews -- everyone raves about these headphones.Read full review

Great headphones for the working professional
I recently acquired the MDR-7506 headphones by Sony and they are perfect for my podcast set-up. Like new condition and they work very well with my Rodecastor Pro. Vocals are clear and the mids are great for voices. I highly recommend these headphones if you are thinking about starting a podcast. An industry standard!Read full review
