My dog and I really love the Sony MDR-7506 headphones!

I've owned a lot of pairs of headphones and still have several pair around (two of which of this model). Side-by-side comparisons have proven the Sony MDR-7506 are the best, which is crucial to listening to studio mixes. I do the mixes through a good pair of monitors first, incidentally. Also, because I have a young dog in teething stage who must find these headphones in good taste also, I purchased another pair in case he should grab a set when I've left in his reach. :) They really sound excellent and do not color the sound with accurate reproduction of the mixes.Read full review

Makes good music sound GREAT!!

More comfortable than any phones i have ever heard. Wear them for hours and forget i have headphones on. Chrystal clear sound, hearing things i have never heard on tracks from albums i have listened to dozens upon dozens of times through the years and many times with mid hi-hi to end phones. These little hidden sounds in recordings are what really made me stand and take notice. They break in very nice, become really "settled" and all frequencies faithfully replicated. Now i see why so many audio engineers mix and master with these sometimes over far, far more expensive cans they could use. Now that mine are becoming their broken in true selves i am going be using them in my home studio. Also going to buy a second pair. Wonderful set of headphones!!!Read full review

Sounds Superb....

These sound totally superb. The clarity of the sound and freq response and dynamic range are fantastic. Makes mastering music easy to get better results, and not overheard by others. Although, they are noise cancelling and you might have a problem if you need to hear the door or phone, otherwise recommend very much nonetheless!Read full review

Sony MDR 7506

I have had the 7506's for about 2 months now. I really have no complaints from them at all. They sound great listening to YouTube videos with my iPhone 5, that is dated but I take good care of my stuff and it usually lasts. I do not like ear buds. They always fall out and are not comfortable for me. I usually watch movies on a tablet and the sound quality is great. I can hear things that I never heard before. Are these 400 dollar phones no, but these have been around for over 20 years and are unchanged. They even sell replacement parts for them. For 80 headphones these ROCK. Very happy.Read full review

They really do live up to their reputation.

I've been using a different brand of headphones for a couple of years and had been happy with the sound but they weren't comfortable and my ears got hot after wearing them for a while, so I decided to upgrade to the MDR7506 and they've completely exceeded my expectations. These headphones are lighter, the ear pads are more comfortable and don't make my ears hot, the head pad is more comfortable, and they're more ergonomically designed so they sit on your head in a more comfortable position. It sounds kinda weird, but when you put them on, they just feel "right." All of that would be enough to justify the price, but the sound from these things are absolutely amazing. The sound is so clear and the depth of the sound field is so realistic that I'm hearing new things in music that I've listened to thousands of times and know by heart. My only complaint is that the cord isn't detachable, because I'd prefer not to have a coiled cord. Other than that, I'd buy these again and I wish that I'd bought a pair years ago.Read full review

Great studio head phones, & great price.
These head phones are the best for any application from Recording Studio use, to night club Dj use.
These head phones are the absolute best quality you can buy for the money. I’ve had the same pair for over 16 years now using them as a club Dj the ear pads just started to wear out !!
Ive recently bought two more pairs bc the price was to good to pass up.
You won’t be disappointed in these head phones.

industry standard home classic

A classic in the sound industry any rock music made since 1991 has probably passed through the drivers of these headphones when being made. The sound of these are somewhat neutral which allows all the sounds in a mix to be heard and then adjusted accordingly.however that doesnt mean these are just for work the impedance is officially 80 ohms but according to most modern test it's said to be more like 68 ohms.Ohms in simple terms is how much power it takes to power a headphone.most consumer audio will be about 32-40 ohms and while these are a little higher most modern smartphones and computers will be able to drive these no problems. The sound as i said is neutral but while they're not bass heavy the bass is tight and accurate which gives music a nice satisfying punch. The only problem i have is portability while they can fold up rather small the cable is a 10 feet fully uncoiled. If youre using these for home then that's fine same with studio work.for somebody who wants something they can throw in their bag that's a big problem. However the headphone itself as a higher end industry product can easily be opened for repair and as such can be easily modified. On my pair i removed the coil cable and replaced it with a standard 3.5mm jack allowing the cable to be detatched and swapped out which makes it easily portable.personally i think this is the best sub 100 dollar headphone you could buy.Read full review

Great Headphones

I run a video production company and have a broad range of audio equipment, but only one kind of headphone...the Sony MDR-7506. The sound quality is excellent. They fold up small. They're very lightweight, comfortable, and can be worn for extended periods of time. The ear pads eventually wear out and have to be replaced, but that is really the only maintenance required. They are the industry standard. Read full review

An even spectrum of clear music

These Sony headphones have been my favorites for 20 years, so I added a second pair for my computer. The first pair still sounds great! An even sound spectrum that I tweak in EQ for a bright high end, which comes through beautifully. Never mushy or bass-boomy. Super sounding, lower cost headphones. Read full review
