Great Sound but voices are sometimes muffled

This offers some really punchy sounds and when turned modestly up there is a good spectrum of low base and high end.

I have this plugged into a 2019 Sony TV and it's well integrated in respect to remotes and auto HDMI switching etc. I don't have any opinion as to how this would work on other TV brands

The reason for the 4 star rating is that the projection of speech gets lost on certain formats. If you turn the volume up then this is fine but I have difficult hearing on low volume. I'm still getting used to the system and will try it in different modes that may overcome this problem. In particular, American films, I struggle with what is being said.

Sony HT-ZF9 3.1 Soundbar & Sub

It's very quick to connect the soundbar up, once done and switched on, the sub pairs automatically and your away, that quick. It's turned my room back into a mini cinema and what a sound, deep bass is amazing, I use a 4k firestick into the soundbar and absolutely zero lag of lip synchronisation, perfect, just wish the rear speakers were included. Good all round sound

I've been looking for an upgrade path from 2.1 for a while, and not having the forethought to install cabling in the floor when renovating the house, it could well have been a disaster.
With the plethora of Bluetooth devices around I'd expected more wireless options to be around, but sadly there are not. It took a while to find this Sony example and first impressions are that it was worth the wait.
As others have said, this is not full 5.1, but it comes close, especially if your room is mall - medium (mines 5m x 4 m), it fills the space well.
Base is more than adequate, the Sub copes with everything well, and the centre speakers are clear for voice. The rear speakers, whilst not at the level of 5.1 infill the soundscape and definitely contribute to the 3D sound affect, definitely a good buy if you can get them.
The TV is a Sony Bravia, so synchronization is straightforward, and so far no other gremlins have appeared to affect the appreciation of the system. I would definitely recommend this setup as a workable alternative to a wired system, but it won't compete with an AV Receiver and wired speakers. However, it is still something amazing in the wireless department.
