Easy to use and good value for money

I upgraded to this from an old panasonic mini-DV camera. Using this couldn't be any simpler. and the image quality and image stabilisation is prettty good. It does though take longer than the old camera to refocus when the camera is rapidly moved - so expect some blurry transitions.
The charging USB cable, which is built into the strap of the camera, seems a but flimsy - I suspect this may break before anything else on the camera.

Overpriced - Paying For TheBrand?

I thought this being a Sony brand camcorder it would be pretty decent but how wrong I was, It's a very basic entry-level camcorder and although costing over £100, you can find cheaper import camcorders for a third of the price which can do a better job.

It feels cheap to hold and use with the resulting video footage underlining its lack of quality. The zoom is quite poor and even though there is supposed to be anti-shake, it doesn't kick in at all.

I suppose the Sony dr CX240 would be OK for a 'first' camcorder for your kids (although a pricey one) but if you want a better device to save your memories or use for vlogging, try a Canon instead,Read full review

Another cracking product from Sony!

This is a great piece of kit from Sony. Small and lightweight, it's just perfect for the amateur user who doesn't need all the bells and whistles on a more expensive camcorder.

This is a basic camcorder with no frills, which means it's easy to use and has everything you need to take great quality videos in 1080p resolution (not 4k - Which is a waste of time anyway...)

The menu system is easy to navigate using the responsive joystick (not a touch screen) and there isn't even an on/off button, just close the screen and it switches itself off - How cool is that? The lens cover is integrated into the camera body, which is much better than a separate cover. The zoom is really powerful, and features anti-shake, handy if you don't have a tripod available.

I haven't given this a proper test yet, but I'll be taking it to Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, so that should be a great way to get to know this excellent camera.
