OK for a Kit lens

I bought this lens to get a telephoto lens...I should a spent a little more and bought a faster lens like the 70-200 f/4. this lens is fine as far as a kit lens is but I am not getting pictures as sharp as I get with my Canon 70-200 F/4 with my Canon 5D mark III. I am waiting to get the Sony/Canon adapter so I can give my Canon lenses a try.
