Sony BDP- S7200 Blueray player
This was bought to gain access to Netflix and I player which with my oldie but goody Plasma TV works very well Connected to the TV buy a hard wired HDMI cable the picture is clear 1080p.
The WiFi capability connected into my LPN router allows content from the Net and my PC to be broadcast on the screen. It has all the features I need with future proof technology that will work when the TV is replaced.Read full review...

Nearly the entire package
I have been a home cinema/hifi enthusiast for many years. I read the reviews from popular hifi press and nearly always agree with their findings. The Sony bdp s7200 comes at the higher end of the budget market, but delivers in everything you would expect from a manufacturer that has spent decades delivering good quality hifi/home cinema products. I was watching the Hobbit yesterday and the detail is staggering for the price. The colours are vivid and you really feel engaged with the movie. This unit is near perfect for the price and would recommend to all and sundry.
There are 2 things that i personally would like, but at this price, you cant grumble. Gold plated, or silver plated connectors and a more sturdy build quality. But..............i am asking too much. As of 8/10/2017, you can buy for around £130/£140.Read full review...

The Bees Knees
I purchased my first Sony BDP-S7200 following and rescinded the Sony BDP-S6200. Prior to purchase I acquired the Sony BDP-790 for the simple reason it connected well to a retro separate stack Hi-Fi system. But took a little longer to load and was temperamental with DLNA access, sometimes crashing in between. The BDP-S7200 is by far superior of the 3.
I had all sorts of connection issues with the 790 despite its markedly dual processing power. The BDP-S720 does all and more. No issues with crashes and freezes. You really do feel the power of dual processing. The Sony BDP-S7200 is now obsolete as of 2017 therefore you will need to hurry if you're to obtain a decent bargain, because it is destined to surely hold its price over the next 3-4 years and rising.Read full review...

Improvement over earlier Sony players
I upgraded from an even older Sony Blu-ray player, the BDP-S490. The BDP-S7200 is much nicer to use. It starts/wakes more quickly, responds more quickly to the remote and has much nicer picture quality with 1080 and when upscaling, especially with online services like Netflix. Definitely an improvement over earlier Sony players. And it's a regular oblong shape so you can stack it.Read full review...
