Amazing entry level camera
It is an amazing camera for the price, although its a few years old now its feature set is still a long way ahead of its competitors.. It is a great camera to carry around as a general use and the 16-50 kit lens is useable and functional for a wide variety of subjects /genres .... I currently have it set up for B&W street photography on a back button focus and it is amazingly quick to focus... the only down side to the camera is low capacity batteries but at the price it is not a deal killer or wouldn't change my 5 star review. The images straight out of the camera are sharp and not far off finished...A few little contrast and sharpness tweaks make the images look like they have been taken with top end kit..... Sony A6000 camera
Excellent value for money. If you want to use a camera with full manual controls with the emphasis on image quality this is the one for you.
Too much ‘fan dango’s’ can turn you away from the basic principle that it is the creative heart and mind of the photographer that produces the picture. The camera is just the tool. If it’s too complicated this can rather be a hinderance rather than an attribute.
You just need to spend time playing around with the menu features…,getting to know your camera with make the ritual of picture taking pictures a real pleasure.Read full review

Lightweight. Lots of features. Great picture quality
Great concept. Offers APS-C size images in a small compact camera size. Compatible with my Sony/Minolta flashguns using the Sony adaptor. E-mount offers ability to use third party lenses.
Kit lens supplied 16mm -50mm is of good quality and has produced some great photo's. My personal opinion is to use this camera as an everyday compact with perhaps an ultra wide angle additional lens option for landscape, city, portrait and architectural use.Read full review

Sony A6000 24.3mp Digital Camera
This is a workhorse of a camera. The lens alone is excellent even though it's described as basic. Very sharp photos. Auto focus is fast very fast. Highly recommended. Also even better with the Sony 20mm pancake lens for shaper photos. This is the ideal Street Photography kit.Read full review

The best performance for the money - bar none.
The Sony a6000 is a few years old but still excellent and represents amazing value for money, especially as a second-hand buy on eBay. Image quality is excellent, the differences between this and the current a6600 are marginal for most amateurs, but the pricing difference is huge. My recommendation is to buy a good used a6000 and spend the money you saved on a high quality lens (or two). If you buy 'Full frame' lenses then you can continue using them if you decide to upgrade your camera body to a A7 or something similar.Read full review

Best bang for your buck
Much more advanced than other DSLR's Ive had. My first mirrorless camera and it's great. I'm using a vintage canon lens with a NEX adapter and I get sharp images with great colour.
Also the wifi feature is great for on the move editing.Read full review

Excellent camera for the money
I bought the Sony alpha to replace an old SLR and so far it's been fantastic. It's much smaller with a lot of great features. There are a lot of settings to get to grips with but the essential stuff is easy to play around with. Battery life is shorter than my old Nikon but have a bought a few spares for not a lot of money. Overall very happyRead full review

A lot of punch without the bulk!
The alpha A6000 is an excellent and easy to use camera. With the standard SELP 16-50 zoom lens It also light and compact enough so you won't hesitate taking it with you on your travels and hikes, unlike some of the SLR's from a decade and more ago!Read full review
