I also think it punches well above it’s weight and when set up using the free Sonos tuning app (automatic equaliser) it positively shines .

Exactly what I wanted

Exactly what I needed, another sonos speaker to use in the garden when required. Loud enough to cover the whole garden clearly and without losing sound quality.

Superb value used.

A used Play:3 now costs less than a Play:1. If you have the space for it then it's a no brainer. Not only does it sound bigger, but it sounds better too with more natural sounding highs. Get a pair in stereo mode and you've got a great sounding wireless system for not much money.

The only downside I can think of is that it's deceptively deep. If you're looking to replace a Play:1 with a Play:3 in vertical orientation then you should be aware that it's not just taller - it's a LOT deeper too. I was hoping to replace the pair of 1's in the kitchen with a pair of 3's but they stick out too much.Read full review

The sound quality from this speaker is truly wonderful. Deep, rich base notes and crisp top notes. An absolute steal if you can get hold of one.
