Very pleased
I already knew the device, as I had an identical unit for 3 years. After this time, the part that's underneath the water, the wiring and electrode connectors got corroded/'eaten'. I wanted to purchase the same device again, as it's easy to install, its operation is accurate & effective and it's easily programmable.
I highly recommend it for anyone with limited space in the pump area, lack of built preparation for use of salt, or who has a small pool that doesn't justify the purchase of a large and expensive product.
On the negative side, the structure of the plastic "guitar" is nice but kinda unnecessary; seems like a much smaller package could have been used. The power supply can work reliably, but the submerged unit cannot be purchased at a reasonable price (a new complete set and a new submerged unit cost pretty much the same).

Be careful
Purchased 7/17, seemed to run fine rest of summer. This year chlorine level has remained low no matter how long I run chlorinator. Seems to be putting out half the cloud of chlorine as last year. And yes all other levels are good. From salt to phosphates. You would think that it would last longer than a year. Guess I should have just bought from the Company instead of trying to save a couple bucks. Read full review

Saltron Retro Review
I installed this about 6 weeks ago and I'm extremely impressed with its ability to chlorinate our 10,500 gallon pool. It even showed me exactly when the salt level was optimum! The cord is adequate in length, but verify that it is long enough for your setup prior to purchase. I'm not sure if you can get an extension, but that would make it perfect for all customers. Our tests of the water never shows a problem. Only issue I had was adapting unit for an Intex pool, the mounts included are for an in ground pool, or more expensive above ground pool. A bracket for Intex frame would be a good addition. Other than that, I easily installed control unit on wall and had unit up and running in no time.Read full review

Works great
Installed this on an above ground 22ft by 52 inch pool, 10688 gallons. The pool had been filled about a week without anything but the filter system and was starting to cloud. Installed the Solaxx system, turned on and walked away for maybe 5 minutes and upon returning I could smell chlorine and see the in pool unit bubbling. In under 24 hours the pool was crystal clear again. I almost purchased another brand at nearly twice the price to meet the recommended requirements for the pool size. Very pleased I went with this system and saved money. My recommendations to the dealers and manufacturer of the system, get photos of the in pool unit with measurements or something to give prospective customers a perspective on it's size. In the all the photos I've seen the in pool unit looks small but it is actually about 18 inches long.Read full review

Saltron Worth the money
Once I got everything ready the proper salt level and temperature so on. I hooked up the Saltron keeping a close eye on out put waiting a few days the output was a little high so I set the run time lower. I have a 24' round pool 52 " deep. Very stable with no problems. So far so good.

Best salt generator we've had so far.
