Bubbling Frog Bowl

I am delighted with this product, it bubbles away in the sunshine and is so relaxing in my back garden. The birds haven't yet found it but the insects have. I would recommend it to anyone especially those that do not fancy having wires all over the place. The only thing is it does only work when the sun is out but in the winter the fountain would be turned of anyway.Read full review

Good Ceramics, Poor electronics...

The Ceramic parts of this basin, fountain is really good quality and hard wearing. It's colour also fits perfectly in a natural environment. The main thing that lets it down is the solar panel. If you lived in a country where there is 100% unobstructed sunshine this will work great, but in the UK and Europe the little solar panel it is supplied with is just not strong enough. It needs to be in absolute sunshine in order to work fully and does not do anything during cloudy weather.

I really liked the design and idea of the fountain so I bought an extra (larger surface area and greater wattage) panel from ebay, and then spliced this (I am an engineer) together with the existing panel and it now works perfectly even during dim cloudy weather. It is a shame that you have to alter the fountain to perform as promised.

For anyone who is interested, you need to get a 6V solar panel of 10 watts or greater if you want to attempt the modification yourself.Read full review

The frog ceramic water feature looks good in you garden and is solid. The pump is solar powered but be warned it will only operate on a full bright sunny day, the second that the light drops even slightly the pump stops. Nice, but some design flaws

Attractive and works well in the sun. The only drawback is that the position of the hole is too low which means it cannot be filled to the top, just 2/3 full. Also, with the frog in place, it's difficult to have the pump underneath. In the summer, it soon gets full of algae with so little water in it, so it needs a good clean at least twice a week. You must NOT use bleach as that would poison the birds.Read full review

Delightful Water Feature

Looks good but fitting the frog to the base with the pump attached leaves the frog crooked due to the fact that the measurement from the base of the frog and the depth of the pump is greater than the depth available under the lip of the bowl !
The solar panel is only operational during full sunshine .Very slight clouds …..off goes the pump !

Improve these problems and you have a delightful water feature and at a reasonable price.Read full review

Looks nice but does not work well

This item looks nice and works well when you put the water in, but the water level soon drops and the pump is out of the water, i am using the pump elsewhere and the water feature is now a bird bath.

Tranquil water feature

Solar panel is a joke, but otherwise fine.

The solar panel far too underpowered to drive the pump. Even in strong clear sunshine it stops if a bird flies past, or a leaf moves. As long as you anticipate having to get a electrically powered pump to replace it, as I did, you can be happy with the water feature which came very well packed.Read full review
