Perhaps the wrong purchase for a beginner. Need more training! Fairly ease to put together but so far unable to use easily.

Good starter telescope. Positives. Good build quality, decent eq mount. Good solid tripod. Eyepieces are OK. Negatives: No collimation spot on mirror. Mirror removal requires full collimation afterwards. Upgrades suggested: Mirror spot. Better plossl eyepieces , extra eyepieces , tuning of focusser. Better finder.Read full review

Excellent equivalent to the more common Explorer 130 EQ

Excellent reflector telescope. For me a significant upgrade from a 60mm refractor. Its fair to say the EQ mount needs some research first to understand how it works. But once you understand it, its a sturdy and smooth system, making star tracking a doddle.
This is basically a 'non-uk' version of the more common Skywatcher Explorer 130 EQ. As far as I know, same scope and mount. Plenty of info and manuals online if required.
Solid metal tripod and mechanics along with a red dot finder and quality eye piece optics. What more could you want at this price point?Read full review
