If you have never read John Steinbeck, this volume with 6 short novels is a great place to start.
He writes with BOLD realism with a bit of stark humor thrown in. The characters are a trip back to
the 1930s-40s in Monterey, a much simpler time. The reading is fluid and easy enough to understand, one reason that Steinbeck won the Nobel Prize for literature! Read full review
