This unit was rated as one of the ten best on the market. that is why I bought it and It has well surpassed all expectations. This Derailleur is absolutely he best I have ever seen and since recommending to friends two of them have purchased the same unit and they rate it also 5+ stars. Not the product advertised
Ordered this product to compare against the same product ordered directly from Shimano. Looking at it in pictures, it looks like the same product, but it is not the same as what was ordered from Shimano. The screws on this product were different. The type font of the Shimano Logo was a little different. The spring that allows shifting between gears was thinner and did not have as much tension. Comparing this product to the actual product from Shimano shows it is not the same. Installing it on the bike, it also did not shift under load properly, unlike when I installed the actual product from Shimano. I do not recommend. It is cheap, but it doesn't work. In addition, it was not packed properly. The box arrived damaged, because there wasn't enough bubble wrap inside to keep the box from crushing.Read full review

Nice Derailleur
This is a very nice product. I haven't put it on my bike yet but, is much beefier that the one I have now. I bought 2 new pulleys for it. As far as the performance, we will have to see when I install it! Thanks!Read full review

Derailleur woes
The price was very attractive but the quality was lacking in this product. One of the jockey wheels became disengaged while I was setting the derailleur. I was forced to remove the unit to put it back together. After repeated attempts to adjust the derailleur I gave up and installed a different unit.

Item not used
Item not used, unable to install due to mounting location. Buyer should make certain item fits bike before ordering. However, other Shimano products I've used have been great.

GREAT PRICE, EXACT REPLACEMENT, ,D.I.Y. & SAVED MONEY.
Exact fit, easy to replace, dialed in adjustments to the exact OEM settings, and the derailleur shifted up and down, thru all seven gears quietly, and smoothly .

The Good & Bad: Shimano Tourney RD-TY300 Rear Derailleur
Pros:
It's cheap ~$15, it's a brand product and it dose the work fine. Perfect for casual and road bike riders.
Cons:
It's a low-end Shimano item/derailleur, if you are a hard-core MTB rider it may give you issues in bumpy trails.Read full review

Good To Go
Same as original, a little work to get the chain around it.You must remove one cog but bolts right in and with a little adjustment you're ready to go!
