IF YOU ARE USING THE LIONEL 397 COAL LOADER AND OTHERS LIKE IT, YOU WILL NEED THIS SWITCH. IT IS A QUALITY ITEM, I HAVE YET TO FIND THAT FAILED, & I HAVE BEEN USING THEM FOR FORTY YEARS. iT WILL NOT FUNCTION WITH THE 164 LOG LOADER OR THE 97 COAL LOADER, BECAUSE YOU NEED THE SOLENOID TO OPEN THE COAL GATE, & THE RELEASE ON THE LOG LOADER.
