You have to look far and wide to find a better automatic movement watch for around $100.00
The Seiko 5 has been around since the 1960's and is no resurrected as a brand new fully automatic movement watch. It may be assembled elsewhere than Japan but the quality is first rate and the watch is a thing of beauty. For some reason Seiko decided to add a rather basic linked stainless band that over time feels fine but when new certainly needs a break-in period to feel comfortable.
Not to worry, since this is a dress watch most men will opt to change out the metal band for a quality leather band, as I did. The feel is now great and I have a wonderful piece of history in a newly made package. Everything is brand new inside, this is not an old tired Seiko 5, although most still run well today. If you spend anytime looking for a Seiko 5 with dauphine hands you know there are not many out there usually these were put on the more expensive versions such as the Actus and going all the way up to the Seiko Grand.
Don't even hesitate to pick up one of these beauties, you will not be disappointed.

Scratched glass
The watch product came out of the box with a scratch on the crystal, starting from the day/date position on the dial, leading up to the 12 o’clock position. This was not part of the description and I’m not satisfied.Read full review

Super stylish and affordable
Super stylish automatic watch with see through case back and day date complication. This Seiko 5 rocks a
sixties vibe that punches way above its weight. Cool watch face, dauphin hands and good lume
The strap is a wee bit jangley with pressed links but for the overall cost is fine. The good news is this watch
features 18mm lug width so plenty of strap options if you choose
Overall a smashing watch from Seiko Read full review

I like them.
Has Seiko 5 watches for over 40 years. They are both stylish and rugged. I prefer the automatic which winds itself with movement---no battery needed. My first 2 ones I had serviced/cleaned by authorized repair shop and they lasted >10 years. Now is's hard to find a service/repair shop. After some years they tend to slow down a little (1-5 minutes/day) and need servicing, which has become expensive; so, for an extra $ 20-30 I bought a new one.Read full review

Handsome Face and Movement
I really like the face of this watch. It's sleek and well defined with pointy hands and appendices.Another note is the duo finishes - the smooth finish of the bezel to the a brushed finish of the case. It creates a smooth transition when viewing the face to case. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this low range watch and Seiko is a brand to watch.Read full review

Classic Style
I purchased this watch because I like the dial and the size. It has a real clean, no nonsense, classic appearance. I didn't like the looks of the original band. I saw another band online at Watch-gecko in the U.K. so I purchased a leather band. I think it looks better much better than the existing band.Read full review

Loving it
It's smaller than the image might advertise, falls into the dress watch category but I wear it casually also, the band sucks, so upgrade to a more luxury leather band that compliment it well and makes it look more expensive than it is, also a better alternative to a Orient Bambino V2 which I also own, not a fan of such small watches but it grew on me and is so classy.Read full review

Worth the money
I bought this as a cheap dress watch. Looks sharp and runs well. The movement isn't top of the line, but still quality and doesn't gain or lose more than a few seconds each day. Unfortunately, there is no hand-winding or hacking seconds, but for under $100, you can't have it all. I docked a star for the objectively cheap bracelet that was included. (Although, if they had to cut costs somewhere, I'm glad it was on something easily replaceable. I put a new leather strap on and it looks ten times better.)
If you want something that looks sharp with a suit, but don't want to break the bank, this would be a solid choice.Read full review

One of the best watches your money can buy on the market today!
This is a $100.00 watch that looks like $1,000,000.00! This watch comes with Seiko's 21 jewel Automatic (self winding) movement. It features a 38mm stainless steel case and fits very well on your wrist. It has a stainless steel bracelet that is very comfortable and easy to open and close. It has luminous hands and hour markers which show up very nicely in low light or complete darkness. I do like that the crown is offset to the 4:00 O'clock position. I think it gives it a sleeker look and keeps the crown from catching on things. This watch comes with day and date complications and also has Seiko's proprietary scratch resistant Hardlex crystal. It sports an open clear back so you can see the movement in action which I absolutely love. The thing that stands out the most to me though is the dial. WOW! You just would NOT expect so much detail to go into a dial on a watch at this price point. If you are looking for a very expensive looking watch then go no further than the Seiko SKNL23! In my humble opinion, it's one of the best watches for your money on the market today!Read full review

Great looking dial, the bracelet is a little cheaply made but not too bad.
The watch is awesome. Have been wearing it every single day since I got it. It arrived a little late but was earlier than what was mentioned during shipping.

Nice Watch
My 30+ year old Seiko 5 still works. Time to get a new one though. This one, SNKL23 is among the nicest "dressy" Seiko 5s you can get. Highly recommended.
