Wow, such value!

The watch case and everything else about it are heads and shoulders above other Seiko's I've had in the past. The SRP line represents a fantastic value, especially if purchased used and in good to great condition! If this were a "Swiss Made" watch, it would easily command a street price of 2-3x the current price and be in the $750-1000 range, easily.

The lume on the dial and hands is insanely great, as are almost all Seiko's (modern ones at least). The rubber type strap is VERY soft, pliable and comparable in feel to those on the Apple Watch Sports. The buckle and everything about are top notch, this is the best rubber strap I've ever had. Also, the lugs are drilled so removing the spring bar is very easy and the SRP777 looks great on a NATO strap as well.

For the price, you can't beat it. It may be a bit large for some, but it wears a bit smaller than the specs would indicate. Compared to the Seiko SKX007, this is hands-down a better value overall. You are getting a better movement that is hackable and hand-winding as well.

How do I regard this watch so far? Well, it has changed my mind about Seiko's place in the market overall. I'll consider other mid to higher level Seiko's in the future. This was just going to be a beater watch when I want to baby my favorite 14 year old Swiss diver....but this will see a lot of wear and will likely have a lot more wrist time than anticipated! A job well done Seiko!

Day and date wheel slanted and misaligned

Overall pretty good. The chapter ring and dial alignment is almost perfect. Typical seiko QC issues so there is some misalignment which I could fix myself. What's more difficult to fix is the day and date wheel. Date wheel display is lower than the day wheel so for example |WED|17|, the 17th would sit quite a bit lower than WED and on a few days the day wheel would diaplay slanted. It bugs me quite a bit because it ruins the dial face.Read full review

I love this watch!

This has quickly become my favorite watch. I have a much more expensive Seiko and a Hamilton as well, but this watch gets the most wrist time. It's durable, accurate (runs between +2 to +15 sec/day, well within specs), extremely legible day/night/underwater, comfortable, and stylish. While the rubber band is perfect for swimming, I found that I got too sweaty under it and didn't like wearing it for long activities. This watch is so versatile, however, and looks amazing on NATO straps! I have it on an army green one most of the time, and switch it up with a Bond strap to dress it up a little bit. I love having the day and date, and because it's so affordable, I don't feel like I have to worry about banging it around--I just wear it, and love it.Read full review

Superb watch, incredible value!

This latest generation of automatic Seiko diver's watches continues its rock-solid legacy of rugged performance and excellent build quality. Similar in many ways to the previous generation of this line (SKX007J1), this latest revision features optional hand-winding and the seconds hand hacks, where in the previous generation in was automatic -only. Also present with this latest revision is the cushion-style case, which sits very comfortably. An added and welcome feature that is new to this revision is drilled lugs, making it much easier to change out straps and bracelets.
The quality is far above what one would expect at this modest price point, and this reviewer was so delighted with the watch I purchased 3 in different colors.
The day wheel is presented in English and a selection of other languages; your seller can tell you which to expect.
The only concern noted is that there have been reports of alignment issues with the chapter ring, face, and bezel on some isolated cases; it is recommended that the seller be asked about this before purchase.
In an exciting development, there is a cottage industry that has sprung up to customize automatic Seiko diver's watches; this model serves as an absolutely excellent base for this endeavor with custom bezels and crystals, hands, faces, etc.
Whether you opt for customization or adhere to the majesty and honest simplicity of the stock configuration, this watch is an excellent purchase that will serve you well. Just an absolute bargain at this price.

Read this review totally unbiased.

I'm just going to give you a first impression out of the box. Very comfortable heavier watch. Not a thin watch sits up and begs to be knocked this will probably be a problem for clumsy old me. Has a semi brushed case sits large on a regular men's wrist but not "super" large. Quality looks really good strap is comfortable has a semi shiny "oversized" buckle and same metal retainer. I would wear and not worry this watch or just keep it in the box and watch the price go up. You do realize that for $25 more you can get the Pepsi bezel right? I wanted the more subdued look myself but the Pepsi has the much more exciting look. Read full review

Beautiful watch at a good price.

Nice automatic Seiko that looks great and feels awesome. The rubber band is very comfortable, flexible and in my opinion the best Seiko band I've worn. I actually bought a spare band I like it that much. This is a watch you can wear all day and feels solid on the wrist without being heavy. The dial is very nice to look at and the second hand has a nice sweeping action across the face. All in all for the price I would recommend the watch to anyone thinking of buying a new automatic Seiko for an everyday watch or as part of a collection.Read full review

Best Diver tool watch I have ever owned... and thats saying a lot!

The Seiko SRP777... Probably the best Diver tool watch I have ever owned, and I have had many. Even though it has a larger diameter it wears smaller (Much like a 40mm) due to the short lug to lug length, I have a 7.4 inch wrist. Its good looking and surprisingly comfortable... like I stated, I will have to say its the most comfortable case I have worn. And at that price it can't be beat. No worries if you hit it... in fact a scar here or there gives it even more character... because you are using it as what its supposed to be... a tool watch!
I have yet to take it off and will be ordering two more in the future for up calming birthdays.
I have seen this watch wear well on wrist size down to 6 3/4 but any smaller you should look into the Seiko Mini Turtle.

Seikos are just plain "Hard to beat"

Typical Seiko quality. The 4r36 movement is hackable and hand windable. The fit and finish is second to none. The lume is fantastic. This is my eighth Seiko watch purchase over the last 33 years, and I still have the first! They stand up to any type of use and are extremely reliable. This is my second Turtle, and I look forward to wearing it rotation with the other watches in my collection.
I own Swiss, German, Italian (swiss made) and Japanese. The Seiko brand stands up to watches costing many times the price. The dive watches are not really stylish, but they have a beautiful finish and wear comfortably. Can't wait to get the Strapcode Super Jubilee bracelet to go with it!

Searching

Got a few other watches before this, even though I wanted this one, finally got it after reading many reviews. I am happy with it. My fist watch 1982 was a Diver style and it just came up missing recently so I was lost with all the choices, It is a great replacement for my Tag diver of 25 years or so. The only thing Im experiencing is the extra band keeps coming out of the excess sliding band holder, I can deal with that, great watch.Read full review

Love this watch, simple, great watch

Excellent watch for the price. I got fed up with the complications of a Casio G-shock. This was easy to setup and simple for me. I like the style and it is not overly large, just seems right. Since I will not be using for diving. I won't address that.

The luminosity is great and far better than my Casio. Only concern would be not as rugged as Casio, but I am not an Navy SEAL ;). I just think I would need to be more careful with impacting other objects.

Only slight dislike is the silver buckle and strap stop. Wish it was black.

Seiko Quality and Heritage are always on the Top!

Style is just beautiful and unique as it named "Turtle", this watch has a lots of story behind it.
One of the perfect Seiko Movement and history on your wrist.
Price is just right and reasonable. You don't need to break a piggy bank.Craftsmanship is added for sure.
If I have down-side of the watch.. hm..
Silicon strap seems bit uncomfortable on my 7.5 inch wrist. Band-loop doesn't cover completely, edge of band leaves tail. I had to replace it with leather buckle style after market band.
Looks perfect now and it's my new EDC watch. very happy with it.
