Repair before use

It works alright, but the handle came off the suction pump when I had the diff 1/4 emptied. Send it back with a note of complaint or fix? I opted for the latter, and put 3 self tapping screws through the pump handle to hold it in place. NOW it works fine. Why wasn't this done on manufacture? The glue used to stick it on is not up to being doused in gear oil then you have knob in one hand and pump in the other. Such a silly thing to go wrong.Read full review

Quality product but mis-described in my view.

The smallest pipe supplied claims to be 5mm. This is actually the internal bore, the pipe itself is 8mm diameter (The other pipe claims to be 8mm and is actually around 11mm external). The dipstick in my van measures 4.5mm across so I had to buy an extra 5mm (external) pipe to stick into the pipe supplied to drain the oil. The product seems of quality, but surely the external measurement of the pipes (they call them probes) are the measurement that matters? If they'd stated the correct pipe sizes then I would have bought a different product that comes with the required size.Read full review

Not up to the job

I bought this and the pipes do not fit in the dipstick tubes of my land rover or Audi the handle fell off when I first used it suction would not hold I binned it as the supplier would not accept a return. I would not consider this again.Read full review

Simple!

So easy to use, had a sump plug which was completely seized on a mini cooper one. Drained just over 4 litres of oil in a couple of minutes, no mess at all. Will probably never bother doing it through the sump again!!Read full review

Compact, and very useful.

I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to coolant flushes, and I like to do it several times till the water is clear, before I put new coolant. It's a breeze with this pump, as it's a pain to drain the system by removing a hose, or using the petcock. It's only three litres, but you can stop and empty it, if you're draining more, and it's easier to store. It should be good for oil changes too.Read full review

Bought this because I had put too much oil in my sisters car when it was dark, 🙈 so I used this and the pipe went down the dipstick way, and it did got stuck not quite far down enough, so I sliced the tip at an angle, and it went down ok afterwards, it took a while for me to syphon it out, but it did the job and that's what I needed it to do.Read full review

Cracking piece of kit.
Plenty of suction and made of quality materials.
Only negative point is that it could do with another smaller bore tube to fit down dipstick tube.
