As good as I remember it!

I've been wanting a QWERTY type phone since I got an Exalt II, and I remembered I lost my old Alias 2 a long time ago, so I decided to switch back. I'll be comparing it to the Exalt II in this review.

The UI (for calendars, settings and customization, etc.) isn't as good as the Exalt II, and the battery life is shorter. I believe this is due to the Exalt II being a much new basic phone than the Alias 2, so that's something to keep in mind. I have to charge the Alias 2 every night, as opposed to every three nights for the Exalt II.

That being said, I LOVE the keyboard! The design is great, and the context keys are wonderful; not as distracting as most other keypads/keyboards on basic phones. Plus, being able to read and quick text messages is a great feature. I've always been a fan of flip phones, so having both T9 and QWERTY capabilities, without the buttons on the outside causing accidental pocket dialing, is awesome!

All in all, great old phone model! They don't make 'em like they used to. I wish Samsung's basic phones kept the e-ink keyboard, but I guess it was too costly to produce. Shame, it's so good!

It arrived but

The phone came in its original packaging which was nice and it came with a car charger.... But no house charger. Second issue is the "water/moisture" stickers on both the phone and battery indicate the phone has gotten wet. And finally the battery will not charge and after checking is swollen.Read full review

I love this old style phone!

My other Alias 2 died after close to 10 years so I decided to stick with a basic phone. We get 2 phones every month for the price of one smart phone. Free to activate with Verizon by dialing *228. The batteries are cheap. You can buy the extended battery which is cheap and comes with an enlarged case for prolonged battery life. the qwerty keyboard is visible when you turn the phone horizontal so you don't have to hunt and peck for texting. My wife hates the phone because she says the keys are too small. I'm half blind and it works for me. This phone is pretty durable under harsh conditions. However, if you need a phone that can withstand being run over by a forklift twice the Samsung Convoy is even more durable but is not a good texting phone.Read full review

Love my Samsung Alias 2!

I love my Alias 2. It's a flip phone, so it's easy to prop between my head and shoulder to talk when I'm busy and I don't "fat-finger" the buttons like I have with some phones because the keyboard fits my hands. Also love not having to have a data plan with my phone company since it's not a smartphone.Read full review

Stylin Fone

So far I really like this phone. Didn't like the touch screen smart phone I just got, so I went for this phone because of the keyboard option. They seem to have it set up well. If your using the phone as a flip phone and start to text, it automatically transfer when you go to the other position. If you answer with the keyboard opened, you can still talk. So far it has made texting a lot faster, and I like phones with buttons. Working construction it will be a lot better for me than using a touch screen. The one thing I'm going to have to figure out is, opening the phone as a flip phone. the way I have been opening the phone to answer a call, it has opened the keyboard way, instead of opening as a flip phone. I need to open from the bottom of the phone instead of the side. I have lost a couple calls because I'm not used to the way it opens. I just need to get familiar with it.
I'm thinking about buying another after I use this one for a month and see how well its holding up. eels like a well made phone and resembles the Samsung convoy rugged phone on the exterior, which I like for construction.
So far, so good!!!

Best Little phone

This is my second Samsung SCH U750 phone. My first phone I had for over seven years. I just love the flip screens. Makes it very easy to text. Takes good pictures. Is a great little phone for older people that are not into all the high text things. Love it...Read full review

Next best thing to a smartphone

As I am loathe to get a new smartphone and pay the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for one, this phone is the next best thing. It is easy to text, stores plenty of phone numbers & is smaller than new phones. I am on my third Alias 2 and will continue to use this until it I can no longer find any available. I just use my phone for a phone and not a computer.Read full review

AWESOME Phone!

I use a smartphone for work, but didn't need another for personal use. This phone has a great battery life, takes a beating well (I owned one previously - so I am speaking from experience!) and does all the basics with ease. You can't beat the QWERTY keyboard and the ability to text so easily. This phone is a winner, even if it's not a smartphone!Read full review

??

It was a new phone with a new charger so it was better than used or refurbished. The only thing I have a problem with is the price. It seems like it was extremely expensive for a non-smart flip phone. The only reason I bought it at that price is because it happens to be my wife's favorite.Read full review
