Great thermostat for the price
Very easy to install and programme.
Excellent value for money.
It does not have the features of more expensive models but hey what more do you want. It is simple and very effective.
Great to be able to control the heating on the move and to come home to a nice warm house.

Disappointed
All sorts of syncing issues between the stat and the receiver, which got even worse when connecting through the gateway onto the internet.
The App is "buggy" with advertised features missing.
Even a replacement system still did not work. This is a pity because it's good looking and well made but seems its been released to market too soon without been properly tested.Read full review

Value for money heating smart heating control.
I been wiring heating controls for years pound for pound this is fabulous value , my only slight criticism is the stand for the room stat unit the angle is wrong it has a tendency to fall forward. I glued on a stand from a different make, problem solved. I actually use this in my own property as a replacement to a more expensive system which has stopped working. It does what says on the tin.

Great thermostat
Fairly easy to wire into boiler, simply connect to the mains power via the spur and then connect to boiler room thermostat connector.
Thereafter everything works wirelessly. The thermostat is well designed and easy to use. The mobile app allows a schedule to be easily set and adjusted.

Internet connectivity lets this room stat down!
As a heating Eng i love Salus room stats, and have been using them for years with very little problems, I have found them to be very reliable at a good price.
Bit I have to say I am not happy with the RT310i and I am so glad I purchased one for myself first to try before I started installing them. The room stat works great up until the internet comes in to play, I have been trying unsuccessfully to try and update the firmware on the stat. With no success, I contacted Salus only to be told that the Engineer had the same problem? the room stat will work with the phone but only 50% of the time and depending what mood its in, sometimes I have to turn it up and down a few times to get it to respond to my phone. The
WiFi portal that comes with it is a bit well okish does the job sort of but is an eye sore. Shame I am used to fitting Nest's which just work 99% of the time. This stat does not cut the mustard, good price, the internet connectivity and controllability lets it down.

Unreliable software
Initially quite pleased as it was very simple to install and worked 'from the box'. But...
After a while I noticed the hardware was requesting a 'firmware update' via the App on my phone. I followed the instructions to carry out the update and it appeared to install successfully. At the end of the update procedure the thermostat rebooted itself and suddenly the temperature reading was about 3degrees lower than it was giving prior to the update i.e. just a couple of minutes earlier.
We have 3 thermometers in the house and prior to the firmware update they all matched to within half a degree or so. Following the update the thermostat now always reads about 2.0 - 3.5 degrees lower than the other two. The discrepancy doesn't appear to be consistent, which makes it impossible to use operate the thermostat effectively, even by 'fudging' the programmed temperatures down. Clearly the Firmware Update has resulted in a malfunction.
I have been trying to contact Salus technical support to find out how to uninstall the firmware update or recalibrate the thermostat, but unfortunately they don't respond. As a result, the product has essentially failed around 3 months after installation. Although it is cheaper than other internet controlled thermostats on the market, for me it has been a false economy and I wouldn't recommend it to others.
As an aside, even when it was working 'correctly' I also found the App to be quite 'buggy' and would not reliably sync to the unit, especially when used on Android. All in all I think the product could have been good but it has been let down by poor software and firmware programming which seems inadequately tested prior to release, and also by lack of technical support from the manufacturer.Read full review

Not quite getting the bad reviews from some purchasers about this stat. I have been using Salus for years and I find them extremely easy to set up and register online. Occasionally the phone app can be a bit buggy but easily fixed by shutting the app down and restarting it. A little tip - set it up without connecting to the boiler first. Just use a plug to power up. Makes install so much easier and no setup routine to go through.Read full review
