Sage Barista Express Coffee machine

Out of all the coffee making equipment I bought over the years, this is the best purchase I have made, it's an awesome machine & it looks so professional in the kitchen & all my visiting friends comment on how cool it looks. The water tank has a built-in filter which I removed as I use pure distilled water which produces the best coffee I have ever tasted, better than any high street outlet.. if anything goes wrong with this machine I will purchase the exact same machine as I love it so much.. Great addition to the kitchen

This purchase was fuelled by a bout of conscience about using coffee pods.
The coffee tastes better, usually works out cheaper and the machine looks great in the kitchen.
It's a little bit more faff but quite fun to experiment with different coffees and different settings.
I had to buy a tamper and some other bits and pieces from elsewhere but that wasn't any big deal.

Well made and perfect for the job

This is a very straight forward and easy to use machine. It brews very good coffee - though the grind size of the beans can take a little bit of trial and error (which would I guess be the same for any machine). It is well made and sturdy, you feel like you are handling something that has been built to last.

For my needs it is perfect and it is nice to treat myself to a proper cup of coffee every day - one that exceeds the quality that is usually served in coffee shops.Read full review

Requires a little learning time

Love this machine. As Italian I am pleased with it and I like the fact that it needs a little expertise to brew a nice coffee. I love that is made of steady materials and less plastic like the other counterparts. If I wanted to get intoxicated with plastic I’d drink coke! Obviously if you’re looking for a quick coffee in the morning I wouldn’t suggest this machine unless you’re a quick barista. It needs a little cleaning all The time and some Patience. I can’t wait to use it properly. If you’re worried about wasting some coffee this machine isn’t for you. I can tell even if you make an americano from it would be still better than the one from a cheap Nespresso.

Great coffee machine

Had a couple of gaggia classic coffee machines and decided to upgrade to sage.
What a great move. Lovely cup every time, frother give you silky smooth Milk for your Latte etc.
You need to set it up for different beans once done every cup is perfect. Cleaning is a dead easy, it even tells you when to do it.

This is a good machine when used properly and would suggest careful reading of instructions . The machine is made up of a no of parts so does requIre a reasonable amount of clearing . The coffee is excellent quality and its really high end. There are a no of second hand machines for 300 and i think those are good value . Cleaning tablets are expensive but Tesco do a good alternative . All in all one of the best machines in this range that I have had . Read full review

A rewawding Ritual every morning

This is a serious coffee machine requiring attention and care and probably the cheapest home machine with this ability. The finish and quality is very good. If you take the trouble it will make a coffee as good as you can buy by a barista in a coffee outlet. However if you want one button convenience, a Nespresso machine would be a better choice.
