Great piece of kit

Upgraded my hi hat to this one, feels like playing an acoustic hi hat (apart from the lack of metallic bounce under the stick). No problem with set up or calibration. If you're upgrading from the standard hi hat pedel with the tdk11, be aware that you'll have a much louder noise when releasing the hi hat due to a thud from the pedel and stand. Not a broken product, just the way it is. Hard floors or noise reducing floor pads will probably reduce this.
Well worth the money, feels great and looks well made. My previous cy-5 broke (rubber split from surface) but this won't happen again.

The hi hats are fine, the only gripe they twirl a bit after hitting them a while , they should be a fixed position

Works perfectly

The ideal upgrade to get a more responsive life-like feel on your electric hats.

Excellent but costly.

I have a Roland Octapad SPD30 and wanted to add external triggers, including a Hi-Hat. I tried the Roland HH pedal but even with advice from Roland , it was useless, insensitive and always double triggering. I decided to bite the (financial) bullet and buy the VH11 and I can say that it is excellent to play and will do all the tricks that a 'real' Hi-Hat will do. The annoying thing is the very high price of Roland gear, I used to have an Alesis DM10/5 electronic kit which was brilliant but too big for my new flat and Alesis gear performs every bit as well as Roland stuff but at a fraction of the cost, except their Performance Pad Pro that is which is a disappointing and ill-judged design (no USB or Midi in!!!).Read full review
