Superb picture quality, set up takes a bit.
This piece of kit is brilliant. Originally purchased same from Currys on ebay which was obviously faulty and refunded. This one surpassed all my expectations, fairly easy to set up but finishing off setup via internet was a bit lengthy however as soon as completed the stick was installed and updates provided via download. I use this principally for Netflix as all other content is already on my Sky box. Picture quality is superb at 1080p and range of options is quite staggering. Remote links to tv automatically and can turn it on/off and adjust/mute volume. You have to open an acct with Roku which is secure and used in case you make purchases. Beauty of it is in my case I can use Paypal for any payments. Thoroughly recommended and well worth the initial setup time.

Worth every penny...
We have enjoyed using the Roku Stick and it has cut costs for us as we no longer pay B.T. huge amounts for their services(!), which included television. We switched to Vodafone and only pay £22 a month. The only downside (if it is such?), is not having 'live' television, but we can catch up anytime we like, so we are happy.Read full review

Drains batteries and a bit slow to switch on
*** update the remote drains the batteries. I have gone through two pairs in less than 5 months. In the roku community forum there were hundreds of entries stating the same problem.
The product is ok but I'm a bit disappointed.
The set up was a bit of a pain. You have to create an online account and at first it was a bit fiddly to set up because it was not accepting the payment details and didn't give me an option to skip that.
Also, it's a bit slow to switch on every time we switch the TV on - it takes a couple of minutes which is not terrible but not great either.

Waste of £59.99
There is nothing wrong with this item technically or physically however I consider this a waste of £59.99. I bought it to watch movies but the number of movies available is small (some channels only had 2 movies) unless you want to pay some more, but you can do this on other sites like Netflix etc and a lot cheaper. I don't think that I have watched any movie right through because they are so bad. A few of the channels are available free on any smart tv so why buy this? I am very disappointed with it and am sorry I bought it.Read full review

The ideal OTT solution
The difference between a Roku and (say) a Firestick is almost everything is available on a Roku, even Amazon, Now TV and all the usual offenders.
Simple to setup and performs well. The mobile phone app makes everything simpler and removes the concern of remote control loss.
Sadly the volume control does not work on sound bars, but why worry for such a low price point.Read full review

Useful and works well
It is a very useful product - pretty easy to set up if you set up a Roku account first. It says that you can power it from a USB socket, though this doesn't seem to work very well. Generally easy to use and gives you access to a wide variety of streaming services.
The only real snag is that the free TV channels available through it are pretty ropey - for anything decent you need to sign up to streaming services which have a subscription fee (apart from Iplayer and BBC Sounds).Read full review
