New design. Works great!

This model is a newer design (at least newer than my previous mode from several years ago). Looks like a new cutting mechanism. It is a little quieter than the previous model...but not much. I still wear ear plugs when using it. They also moved the power switch so it is now on the cord. I prefer it on the cutting end of the unit. Overall I like it and it seems to work well. Poor Switch Location

I had the older blue version with a different cutting blade. The new style cuts just as well, but I am not a fan of the switch location. The on/off switch is on the cord rather than the cutting head. That puts it out of reach while using. It takes time to find the switch during the cut and is a bit of a pain. Other than that, product works as well as the old version.Read full review

A total waste of money

If I could give this 0 stars, I would. It doesn't have a cutting blade, just a rotating wire that does a great job of twisting the hair into a tight knot, but doesn't shear it. I tried every trick I could think of - taking very short cuts (1/4" at a time), limiting the hose suction to reduce the amount of hair being pulled up, pre-cutting with scissors then going over with the cutting head. Overall Worth the Price.

I have had several Robocuts over the past 9 years. They work well, are fairly easy to use and overall are well worth the price when compared to the cost of haircuts today. I use it most of the time with occasional professional cuts. The results of the Robocut are good but not quite as sharp as what a professional barber gives. My only negative on Robocut is that they seem to last about 2 - 3 years and then suffer a permanent failure requiring you to buys replacement. terrible disappointment

originally I gave this 5 stars for 2 months it cut my hair and dog hair - then the cutting wire twisted my hair, and the power died - after I shut it off - it didn't die while pulling my hair.

Serious problem with this model.

Unlike the cutter on the older robocut model the cutter on this new model is a disaster. The cutting mechanism on the old model worked great. This new model's re-dsigned cutter will pull the hair and wrap it up in the cutter mechanism requiring someone to come to your aid with scissors to cut your hair loose from the entanglement.
