Roberts Zoombox2 review

Bought this as a refurbished item from Roberts (via Ebay). Looks new and unused to me. Digital radio reception is good with strong signals on all the stations I have tuned into. The only downsides of the digital radio are that, first, there is a disconcerting delay when changing from one pre-set station to another and secondly, selecting a pre-set station seems to involve scrolling through all pre-sets before arriving at the one you want. We don't tend to change station too often so this isn't a big issue for us. CD player works well with reasonable sound output. It works well as a compact DAB radio/cd player in the kitchen, replacing our big old analogue radio/CD/cassette player. Would recommend.Read full review

Roberts Zoombox2

Good points: compact, light weight to carry, easy to use,FM sound good.
Not so good: cd sound pretty poor and distorted - not what I expected from a Roberts product.

Compact system with good quality sound

Well known make good quality components. Clear sound on both DAB & FM. Very easy to tune. Find the random and playlist features useful. It does take a little time to register the CD however this is minor niggle. Considering this is a graded product I can find no fault at all with the product & an excellent price.Read full review

OK For Small Rooms And Background Listening

Got this for my Mum who now resides in a care home. The controls are simple to operate [if rather on the small side] and the sound quality is acceptable but certainly not hi fi . The bass boost adds little in the way of true low frequencies but does 'thicken up' the sound, albeit rather muddy. The build quality is solid and looks and feels more up-market than might be expected at the price [my model was Roberts refurbished]. Overall it does what it needs to do in a competent manner and at a reasonable price. Look elsewhere for better sound quality, however.Read full review

zoombox 2

very happy with boombox 2.sold by roberts as a graded item= half price.very compact and decent sound.pleasant bass and clear treble.its never been off for 3 weeks .well made item and dab works better than a sony and hitachi dab .the latter sounding like a cement mixer in operation.some folks say cd takes time to load up.but ive no problems.it plays mp3 cds which many music tuition books now contain.Read full review

CD dab radio and MP3

Made in a time when many options were open to the music industry. The Roberts hedges its bets well and in the age of streaming it harks back to more multi format times.

Second time lucky

the first on I was sent had a faulty CD door. This on is OK but the CD door catch still does nit fill me with confidence that it will last a long time. Apart from that it is a very good piece of kit.
