The CD player on the first one received did not work, but the item was swapped with no hassle and I am very pleased with this now. Had read a few negative reviews about the power but it is perfect for me - at my bedside - so that I fall asleep listening to nice music on a CD and similarly can wake up to nice music in the mornings .Read full review

Not 'mad' about it but decided to keep
I bought this as a replacement CD Player - for one which I much preferred - not least because the lid to the CD was spring loaded and opened on finger-tip pressure. On this particular one you have to use both hands and open it manually at the sides.
I did not find the Manual very user-friendly. Could have been clearer and more precise. Diagrams were often in isolation and not shown relative to their position on the actual Radio/Player. I already have a good Digital Radio and bought this to play CDs - having not been able to find one of neat appearance as not partial to the Boom Box variety. However I am pleased to have found something to play my CDs even if the quality isn't that great and the Clock not 24 hour which I would prefer.Read full review

Compact player.
This is a very neat c/d radio player, I paid £50 for it when other sites were charging a lot more. if there is something that you have to be careful with its when you load the cd, make sure it is sitting correctly, otherwise it will not play, I had to hand spin the very first time to play the cd, then it was fine after that. however the instruction book is very easy to understand, and the set up was easy.Read full review

Nice and compact - but average. What a difference being DAB would have made.
Everything was just OK about this radio. It was good value - at the price I paid - and being a Roberts I am assuming that the quality goes without saying. However the one big 'downer' about the radio is that it is not DAB and therefore I would only just about recommend it. Actually I do still have a Roberts DAB Cube but the CD packed and that is the only reason that I replaced it with this. I can't fathom why they took a backward step and made this just a normal FM Stereo where it continuously needs a re-tune tweek!!Read full review

What's NOT in the box
This radio does not have battery back up. When you have a power cut - we have lots - all the settings are lost and you have to reset everything which is time consuming and not entirely straightforward. Considering this feature, regularly found in most radios, is missing, I do not think the price represents good value for money. Had I realised it did not have battery back-up I would to have bought it.Read full review

Exceptional Bargain CD Clock Radio
Thrilled with this unit as it is over £20 cheaper than same one in John Lewis. Good sound and build quality and everything else you get from a Roberts radio.
