Ear we go...
This is my second Pillow Talk: when my first one gave up the ghost, I rushed to replace it.
I'm used to dropping off to BBC Radio 4 Extra, which is mainly talk/comedy based but I found that putting it under my pillow muffled the sound a lot so now I put it on top, close to my ear and that works better for me.
Set the sleep timer on the bedside radio and drift away!Read full review

A useful weapon against tinnitus
I bought one of these under-pillow speakers to drown out the 'noise' from my tinnitus. I have connected it to an old Android mobile phone on which I have installed the 'Tinnitus Calmer' App.
It's early days but the main thing I have found is that I have to set the volume on the mobile phone on it's highest setting in order to be able to hear the sounds from the speaker. Perhaps this is understandable given that there is no amplifier in the speaker.
If you suffer from this very annoying condition then this product is worth trying but if the tinnitus gets any worse I may have to look for an under-pillow speaker that has an amplifier.Read full review

Nice and compact
Nice and compact and lightweight. I find it works best with listening to music rather than speach. So Radio 2 rather than the World Service. But we have quite thick pillows which I think has an impact. I seem to need to put the volume nearly at full blast.Read full review

I am very pleased with the roberts pillow speaker it works well with both my ipod classic and my sony walkman
some feedback says they can feel a lump when you lay on pillow with it underneath I have a little thicker pillow or use two pillows.
The sound is good with 3 positions I think it enhances the base notes.
My wife also is not disturbed you do not need batteries
I have no problem with the volume it is quite adequate for what i need quiet relaxing music when falling asleep.
Cheaper versions may not be as good
I my view excellent purchaseRead full review

Only lasts a few months
It works well when new. However, after a few months the lead becomes hard and the wires inside break so there is no connection to the speaker.
I have bought a number of these over the last 2 years and the problem is exactly the same.Read full review

Lightweight with great features
The pillow Talk Speaker enables you to listen to your favourite music while you peacefully fall asleep, without disturbing your partner. The compact speaker can be comfortably tucked beneath your pillow where only you will be able to hear it. It is fitted with a 3.5mm plug that fits into a headphone socket. Speaker highly recommended.Read full review

Failed by packaging
This radio arrived in a simple plastic bag. No bubbles or even paper to protect it. So I wasn't surprised when I put batteries in tbat it was useless.

Does the job.
Does the job provided the radio is set to full volume and the speaker is close, very close to the ear. Would have liked slightly more in terms of volume.
