Retro Novelty Dippy Drinking Bird Glass Dipping Duck Einstein Toy Happy Bobbing

Very entertaining, keeps going for years

I had one of these as a child, and was highly amused by it then. I came across them again recently and decided to buy one.

When I set it going, it was immediately surrounded by a group of laughing children, who were kept amused for quite a while. Even now it's on a shelf, happily dipping away, they often come and look at it for a while.

The only caveat is that this is NOT a children's toy. It's made of glass, and the neck is quite thin. By all means let them watch it, or even blow on the base (warms it up, making it dip even faster), but it's not for little fingers.

Great entertainment value for only £2.49. As long as you keep the glass of water topped up (we do it twice a week) it will keep going for years.Read full review

This retro 70's glass bird has been on my shopping list since I was a young child and it doesn't disappoint. Glass build and slightly fragile it has not changed much over the years, find the correct size glass of water and keep it filled and Dippy Bird will happily drink for hours on end. Fascinating, but not a toy

I remember these from my childhood, but haven't seen them for years. A fascinating and educational purchase at a very reasonable price -we bought four altogether, for ourselves and family. Ours has been working constantly now for over six weeks.

It certainly seems to be very well made, but does of course need to be handled carefully - hence the warning on the box that it is not a childs' toy. Every home should have one!Read full review
