Give your old Hifi a new life!

I have two now: one connected to my old Hifi and one connected to my home cinema surround sound system. Fairly easy to set up for wifi. First unit I needed to upgrade the firmware. This was easy enough. Go to Pure website. Other unit updated itself easily. I stream all my music from my PC or Android device using the wifi (...you can use bluetooth too but think wifi is better). Really... for the price you can't beat it. You can buy wireless or bluetooth speakers but frankly for a good system you really have to cough up! My hifi is dated but it's brilliant. My surround system too so why not use them? Oh... Once you download the app you also can stream radio from all over the world! Fantastic!!!!Read full review

Good idea, software out of date. Disappointing.

The Jongo took a long time to setup. Not sure why exactly, but the process to get the device in the network repeatedly failed. After several hours it did complete the process and now does connect reliably on power up. Unfortunately, the 'login to account' is redundant, as the website has closed, so the device is local use only.
Using the app, the list of radio stations is haphazard and the search function is not very good. There doesn't appear to be a way of saving favourites.
Overall, a disappointing experience. But you do get what you pay for.

Fits the bill perfectly

I have given a five star review based on the the £14.95 + free delivery which I paid for the Jongo A2 and which arrived within 2days of ordering. Having read some nightmare reviews on setting up the wi-fi I would have been happy just using it as a Bluetooth receiver
however within about 30 mins of getting it out of the box I had the Wi-Fi up and running and streaming music from my Android tablet and the Bluetooth working perfectly from both my tablet and laptop. The instructions are not very detailed but sufficient to allow me to easily connect up and get running without it being too stressful. For me the icing on the cake is the digital outputs which allow me to connect to an upscaling DAC and listen to almost CD quality streamed/Bluetooth music through my existing hi-fi, for the price and how amazing it sounds I would have given it more stars if I could for the price.
Not sure it would sound as good if connected straight to the amp and using its own internal DAC but as I have it set up it streams far better sounding radio than my Pure DAB tuner can produce. A no brainer for the price!!

This is my third!

I have a bush record player that I wanted to be able to connect my jongo system to. This works really well with any old amplifier or hifi with aux in.

Syncing is not as good as a SONOS etc. It does occasionally drop out but then you cannot get that sort of kit for around £30. It also helps if you have a good WIFI setup.

When setting up, make sure you read the instructions carefully and don't forget to turn on caskid, otherwise it will only work properly with the pure app.

My system now has 3 A2's and a T2. The only limitation is that you can't listen to different music in different rooms. Other than that, the Jongo is the cheapest and best value system available.

Top tip: Buy a really cheap tablet or use an old phone as a dedicated music streamer.

Excellent sound quality and features, Shane pure abandoned it

Transmits a WiFi SSID, connect to it and start Pure audio app. Works very well, and the sound quality (adjusted to 'best' of course). Is amazing, streaming radio from the app or via Bluetooth. RecommendedRead full review

Pure Jongo A2

The setup was straightforward and easy but it then wanted to do a system update. For some reason it disconnected mid way through and so the update failed, which meant the device would not connect to WiFi nor would it let you reinitiate setup either. Fortunately Pure's customer services explained a way of doing the update manually via a USB stick which worked.

Aside from the initial issues, the device works fine and does what it says on the tin. Range is the same as my WiFi around the house.

If it wasn't for the initial issues, I'd give this 5 stars

Does exactly what it says on the tin !

I'd been looking around for some time for something to my replace my old Logitech Wireless DJ which i used to stream my 20k+ music collection to an Acoustic Solutions surround sound system from my old TV. It used to work pretty well but problem was that I could only use the music on my laptop and because it used an infra red receiver (I think) it would tend to drop a note or so every so often .... slightly irritating but I just put up with it.

So I was looking for something that I could still access the collection on but also play music from my phone, son's phones and their Spotify account and anything else that might take my fancy. I had a look at some high end music streamers as I do like a decent quality of output (probably comes from my Hi-Fi days many years ago with the old vinyl records and my Linn Sondek & SME 3) anyway, I came across this Jongo A2 which seemed to be sold at anything up to £59.99, was generally £29.99 most places and at Dealmania UK was just £18.99 - a bargain I thought.

I promptly purchased said item, it arrived really quickly - 48 hrs and took me longer to unpack it than it did to set it up and get going..... Its Bluetooth so simple to setup and even has an English instruction booklet separate to the French/Spanish instruction booklet presumably a bit of de javu that Brexit was just around the corner !!!

It works a treat, streams my collection with no dropouts, the boys can stream from their Iphones / spotify accounts etc and even the missus has a go with her old SGS3. The only thing I'm not sure of is whether the volume is able to go quite so high as when I streamed from the old system but it's certainly loud enough and I haven't played around with any Equalisation app etc just to see if there is any better setting available.

All in all. absolutely delighted with the purchase and for £20 an absolute bargain in my eyes....

From an Old Fart - Late 50's - likes everything from Ole Blue Eyes to Iggy A

Enjoy....

Easy to use and set up.

I have used this as a Bluetooth wireless adapter for my regular hi-fi setup. I've no idea about how it works with the 'Pure' range of products, but I found this very easy to set up, with good reception on Bluetooth, and as good sound quality as you are likely to get with this technology. At the discounted price paid from RRP, I think it would be hard to beat.Read full review

Not so easy to connect to

Times have moved on. Had problems connecting the Jongo on Wifi although Bluetooth was easy enough. Other newer adapters are far simplier to use and less frustrating. There is nothing more frustrating than spending 30-40 mins trying to connect via your phone with no troubleshooting/diagnositics i.e. totally trial and error.Read full review
