Great for motorcyclists

As a keen motorcyclist I had considered having silicone earplugs moulded at a clinic but the cost was prohibitive. After a long ride (over 200miles with strong headwinds) I decided to give the Proguard DIY kit a try and have been very impressed. The fact that these sit flush in the ear means that they don't interfere with the inner lining of the crash-helmet, a common problem with 'fir-tree' plugs or head-phones. The added comfort and snug fit keeps noise down to manageable levels, and should protect my ears for years to come. I would wear them at gigs too, and the fact that they're bright blue makes it easier for people to see that you're not deliberately ignoring them!!
The sensation of fitting the Proguard plugs should not be an issue - squeezing liquid silicone into the ear sounds worse than it is, and the 'underwater' sensation whilst they set is bearable too. Once cured the lanyard tips can be screwed-in and with a little practice the plugs wriggle in and out quite easily.Read full review

The most effective ear plugs I've used.

Pros: Good value, easy to prepare and effective in use.

Cons: Your second attempt will almost certainly be better than your first, so you may need to buy two sets.

Tip: 1. Buy two different coloured sets. You can then have a different colour for left and right ears. Seemples! 2. Ensure you push enough of the mixture into your ear canal when preparing.Read full review

Proguard moldable ear plugs does what it says on the tin

Forms a great seal and gives adequate protection. Very comfortable and you can wear them for long periods of time. I tend to put the pots in the fridge for a couple of hours before mixing and moulding. Read full review
